Simon Makienok

That performance ranks as one of the worst I have ever seen in a Charlton shirt.

Hes not very good, remember someone saying he'll do a job next year in league 1.... really? I hope we don't sign him

Said the same since day 1. He is quite simply not up to it at this level, not in the slightest. I can only assume that the adoration and over excessive match day marking of him are because he's tall, slim and blonde!!!

He didn't play well and nothing went for him in the second half but worst performance ever? I don't think so.

Like all the summer signings, he's showed flashes of being a decent player but he's probably not good enough for the Championship. Whether that is the case or not, fans have had it for him from the start and it peaked tonight.

    He was dire.
  • Garbage player, but felt bad for the way he was cheered off the pitch.

Sounds like he had a stinker tonight, and its not his first, but he;s had good games for us too - Hull and Cardiff at the Valley and away at Rotherham are 3 examples that, even as a fan living in another country, I've been able to witness.

Sadly he hasn't done enough to justify his salary or signing him permanently, but I reckon he's done a lot more for our cause than some of the shower of shite in our squad at the moment.

Should never of started Infront of Sonogo, although he acted like a clown a team of jokers managed by a jester.

He was poor, but i've seen worse.

Like many players he's just not up to standard, I'm actually starting to feel sorry for players like Mak, he didn't ask to come here i'm sure and in some respects is a victim of the regime like the rest of us. Playing in this side for the managers we've had under the current owner won't have been easy for the most hardened pro, for the younger players i'm sure it will have a detrimental effect on the rest of their careers and something I don't think the current ownership realise.

Fox is another, he's isn't as bad a player as he's been this year, he's probably not a Premier league or top Championship player but he was of a standard to do a job in this league. After this year I doubt you'll see him ever play above league 1 again, probably will drop down to league 2 or worse like Basey he'll be non league within a few years.
  • Makienok was bad but Poyet was completely invisible.

I'm glad someone beat me to making this thread.

That was the most pathetic thing I've ever seen, I long for Simon Church whilst watching him, from minute one he was hugging their centre half, and when called upon he gave it away.

I'm not intellegent enough to analyse his performace without using swear words and for that I apologise, but he's a fuckin donkey that's been a cancer amongst the team for some time now, he's like the puny useless kid at school that begged to play football at lunch, and when you finally let him play you just do all you can to avoid passing to him because you know he'll only cock it up, that's what I felt some players were doing towards the end.

And why WHY WHY did riga keep him on for 84 minutes you could argue he's cost us the game cos if Lookman or Sanogo had been on for longer we may have nicked one.

I pray I never see him again in a CAFC shirt, oh wait sanogo suspended!
  • Truly terrible player. Far too many substandard, ineffectual performances where he literally contributes nothing, like today. BUT, it is Riga who picks him, Riga who subs Harriot off first, Riga who leaves Lookman on the bench until the 82nd minute. It is like living a comedy nightmare.

He's a luxury player IMO. I understand why people think he is w*nk and why they sarcastically clap when he gets subbed off, but he is a talented footballer(I am of sane mind, before you ask) who will go on to do well at another club but he's just not what we need. We carry him too much, we need players that can work hard all over the pitch. He's the kind of player who is great to have when you can play a bit of football, where things are comfortable and he can do a few flicks but he is 100% not suited for a relegation scrap. Vetokele would have been perfect for that match today, big mak wasn't the right choice. The championship really isn't suited to him, nor is English football.

Nah he's just shite, no luxury about his flicks. If you lack basics but can do the odd flick you aren't good enough to be on the pitch, you've just spent some time flicking about a football.

He has been woeful, that performance against one of the worst teams in the league speaks boundries, one moment he was left wing, the next right and then the next he was playing cross pitch balls. Lone striker number one rule, stay in a strikers position.

I actually don't see one valid reason Maikenok can be defended.

To blame Big Mc is ridiculous ...

You're running out of non-Roland signings to blame though eh Col?

I am not blaming big mac although he aint very good i admit, tonight for me was all about how poor Rigas decisions were for 90 mins and as for this season the blame firmly lies at Rolands door. Club has been destroyed.

    He's a strange one.

Generally ineffectual, but every now and again he shows a flash of quality. The rest of the time he lopes round in a lackadaisical manner and gesticulates in a histrionic fashion at - who? Himself? His team mates?

If I was a giant Norseman, I'd make sure the opposing defenders would know I was there. Mak just seems rather powder puff in his approach.

I was considering staying away but must go just to tell Murray and Meire exactly what I think of them.

The weak defense case I feel has to be heard is that he was isolated in the formation we played, and the crosses we did send his was were on the whole pretty dreadful and nowhere near him. But...

He just has this tendency to be so, so bad on occasion... way too regularly, and you can tell almost straight away which version has turned up to the game.

I think he tries and he's probably a nice bloke, but his touch is just not good enough, and that's not fixable. His absolute ceiling as a footballer is not at the Championship level in England. Maybe in a less physical league he might scare people a bit, but any decent Championship centre back has him on toast.

I genuinely feel sorry for him, and he kicks a ball around for a living earning my annual salary in a matter of weeks.
