Pope - 8 - Radiated confidence today. One spill that didn't cause any problems and some big claims at the end
Motta - 5 - Infuriating. Always out of position, easily dispossessed and easily beaten. Yun was switched to the right for a reason in the second half.
Teixeira - 7.5 - Unflappable and scored a great header
Fanni - 7 - Mad header towards his own goal needed a great save from Pope but really grew into the game and started sweeping up and playing the ball out confidently
Fox - 7.5 - Adomah had absolutely no joy off him. Some shaky passes in the first half but kept his head up and really spoiled Boro's game plan in the second half. Some committed tackles in there
Berg Gudmundsson - 5.5 - Did almost nothing of note. Seemed more comfortable when we were counter-attacking but was still uninspiring.
Diarra - 7 - Was our best player in the first half and broke up Boro's passing play so well it forced them to change their tactics, which played well into our hands
Cousins - 8 MOTM - Tried to bring the ball out in the first half, and once Boro started committing more players forward Jordan drove us up the pitch and created chances. Deserved a goal at the end.
Yun - 7.5 - Superb. Played like a LB at LM at the start but in the second half every ball up the pitch stuck to him and he played calm, intelligent passes. He created a platform for us to play off and read Harriott's runs brilliantly. When switched to RM he diligently covered for Motta's poor judgement and stopped Boro building up a head of steam. Really happy with him today
Harriott - 7.5 - Played clever passes through for Lookman in the first half and tried to make things happen. Went up a gear in the second half and fought for every single loose ball. Chased down their attackers and skilled his way through some tight corridors. Superb effort.
Lookman - 6 - Didn't look hugely up for it and was on his heels a bit for some Harriott through balls. Pulled wide when he could but didn't offer enough.
Reza played some nice triangles when he came on and Bergdich used his pace to full effect.2 -

Pope - 9 Quick off his line on two or three occasions, made good saves, distribution is improving, two clean sheets in three starts, still only 24. His shirt to lose
Motta - 3 I really thought he'd end up being a stand-out signing but was awful today. The chipped balls to the edge of the box make me worry he sees people the rest of us don't. Defensively non-existant.
Teixeira - 7 Distribution was dodgy at times-he's good on the ball but gets too comfortable. The goal was excellent and felt like it really meant something to him.
Fanni - 9 Reads the game really well, seemed to be everywhere on the cover and that was despite Motta being awful. Got a bit of luck with his bullet header coming off Pope's feet, but no more than he deserved.
Fox - 9 MOTM - Am I watching a different player than the rest of you? Blocked six crosses by my count. Was first to the loose ball on the six yard line in the first half prevent a goal. Remember all those attacks that came down our left from Downing, Gaston, and Nsue (quality Championship players)? Me neither. Had two or three nice touches as well.
Berg Gudmundsson -8- Didn't get the space he needs to truly dominate, but looked to get his head up and interchange every time he got the ball. Two assists.
Diarra - 6 - Solid. A man who has so much leg and yet has clearly lost his legs. Makes us a better team even if he isn't the most visible on the pitch.
Cousins - 8 - A good captains performance, though I felt nothing quite came off for him. Still hassled, harried, got up and down the pitch and won the ball back very well at times. Still only 21, and room for improvement, I think he got MOTM on his workrate more than ability.
Suk-Young - 7 - Tornante, or "returner" in Italian. Got up and back as left winger and right wing back. Has some ability, probably an upgrade on Bergdich in that position. Did everyerthing that was asked.
Harriott - 7 - I spent the first 60 minutes noting that when the ball went up to him it never stuck, and when he did get the ball things didn't quite come off. Not his fault as he's not really a center forward, but he kept working and got his goal by wanting it more. Massive credit to him.
Lookman - 5 - Showed both his immense potential, and why he's not been a first team regular. Looked exhausted after 40 minutes. Worked hard and was asked to hold play up which isn't really his forte, but had some clever touches and clever runs. He'll have plenty of better days.
Reza - 6 - Worked hard and should have won us our first penalty of the season
Bergdich - Managed to make two terrible decisions on the ball despite only touching it three times of note.
Lennon - Quality beard.
