JBG - you goon

JBG happened to give abuse to one of the fans that ran on the pitch today - the one who was passive - and who also happens to be one of the Belgian 20.
Whereas Harriott just minded his own business.

You can sling yer hook mate - you're not wanted here if you're gonna slag off your own fans. You've been shit all season.

Haha shit all season, 11 assists to his name leading the entire league in that respect.

Not much passive about trespassing on the pitch during the game is there? I'm sure if it was the other way round Harriott would be lauded for telling him where to go

He hasn't been at his best this season (at his best he is exceptional), but there are still 10+ players I can think of who I would rather they sling their book before JBG

I can imagine the players get the point of the ongoing protests outside over the last weeks, understand the reasons for the distraction techniques of beach balls and whistles, but if they just want to get on with the game I can understand the frustration with a couple of invaders just after scoring and going one up.
We don't know where been going on behind the scenes. From what I can see it doesn't look like the players get much better treatment than "customers" do, so perhaps that's why some of them don't "turn up" same as a number of season ticket holders don't either. Do any of us like working for an arsehole?
Don't think it's fair to call JBG shit all season - there are better examples of that before he cops that label.

He looked decidedly pissed off at the start when the beach balls were flying everywhere and spent much of the three minutes staring at the covered end with disdain. He clearly doesn't empathise with the protests and I dare say can't wait to get away from the Valley at the end of the season....

Any player should probably keep their mouth shut regarding protests, particularly one that will be off as soon as he gets a chance. All the others stayed out of it, bit silly of him to get involved, looked to me that JBG approached the fan first as well.

    Quite.
'Get off the pitch' is all very well, J B-G, but troubled times require unusual responses. May I suggest that you put in a decent corner kick or three, before you take issue with supporters who care passionately about CAFC?

Personally JBG was one of my favourite players but more recently he's looked pretty moody and has shaken his head at the fans a few times.

I can understand a player being pissed off with the situation but compared to how the others are dealing with it I can't help but see him as a bit of a child now.

Fan was on pitch interrupting match. Player is irritated that fan was interrupting match. The camera cut away for most of it, but I saw Harriott go up to on and seemingly ask what he was on about until Alou came over and seemingly played peacemaker, but also clearly remonstrated with the guy to get off the pitch.

Can't imagine JBG knew the bloke was one of the Belgian 20. I certainly didn't. If, in his mind invading the pitch was petulant, fair play, he's entitled to his opinion.

He worked hard today and set up both goals, one from a brilliantly taken corner. I feel like he's starting to approach Fox/Sarr scapegoat territory.

Genuinely looking forward to when he leaves in the summer, I remember a thread on here earlier on in the season saying who you think would under-perform this season and he definitely has, take his assists aside, he's been dreadful. Been a solid 5/10 this season. His attitude on the pitch is shocking. He's not the kind of player that will help a struggling team, he's happy enough to jump ship.

With that aside, I think he's just another victim of the regime, can anyone else believe that he was our one and only recognised winger for the majority of this season with Callum Harriott out on loan? What kind of team only has one winger?!

You could look at an alternative view point that the fact he asked the fan to leave (or whatever he said) or shook is head at the covered end singing 'what the fcuking hell was that' at a Reza goal attempt means he certainly does care.

Although he's not had the best of seasons he's been one of the few decent signings under this regime in my view.

    He's cruel to kittens.
    BUT
    He loves his mum.

So I don't know what to think about him.

Unbelievable. He put in a lot of effort yesterday and naturally players will not welcome pitch invaders. Also you need to take into account the behaviour of the other invader

"Take his assists aside, he's been dreadful"

Take Ruud Van Nistelrooy's goals away and he would have been awful

None of us know what was said by either protester or player, but the player did have the right to be on the pitch.

Some are complaining about players being unsympathetic to our protests. Maybe it's because, under this mad regime is the only way they could ever manage to play at such a high level............

From the players point of view,
    That is their workplace.
They are bad at their work this season,
But i was, and am against Pitch invasions.
If the Fan A had attacked a Player,
Then Fan B would be guilty by association.
Is that a hard concept for people to understand ?
  • The rules are simple... You dont go on the pitch.

Wrestling is without doubt... Fake... yet as a fan if you go into the ring they beat the hell out of you for doing it, no different with any other Sports, if you enter the playing field then your breaking the law

Given some of his performances this season, l'm not sure JBG does have the right to be on the pitch.

The bloke is on Facebook saying he said exactly this. Was given a 3 year ban and court on Tuesday for a fine.
