Yep, agree. Must admit i love any format of cricket - but 20/20 is the only format which generates sell-out crowds in virtually every country in the world that cricket is played - whereas, only in England and Oz does Test cricket have even remotely the same attraction. Test cricket is played to empty grounds in India,South Africa (aside from Cape Town),NZ,Windies,UAE,SL and all other Test playing nations.MuttleyCAFC said:The amount of top quality matches in this tournament has been astounding. Purists are not going to like this, but T20 is cricket. it will only get bigger when the product is that good.
Whether the purists like it or not, its 20/20 that is funding Test Cricket - i'm not sure how much longer that is sustainable.0 -
I have been to Surrey for some T20 games, people can go like the football after work. The T20 competition in this country needs expanding into the primary competition. A lot of Cricketing purists may fear hat T20 is killing cricket, but the truth is that it is giving it life.0

Whilst we have had T20 World Cups every 2 years for last 10? years - the next one is 2020 - any ideas as to why we are missing out in 2018 ?0
-
I did know of the warm up, I'm just getting my pessimism in place.
Talking of purists, T20 for me has lead to loads of innovation... Different shots, different captaincy, different bowling strategies, great fielding... Be good to see some of that translate to other forms. There are lots of subtleties and nuances and changes in momentun to t20 which is what I love about test cricket0 -

It's changing to be every 4 years from now I think. Think it gets complicated with the other world competitions which are usually every 4 yrs.
We have a World Cup to host in England in 2019. That's one dayers yeah?
