We win, we're all happy as larry with smiles a mile wide on our chops and then along comes PL54...again !
Has anyone ever suggested counselling to you, pal ?
A professor at the British Museum has recently identified a new genus, 'Trollus Trollus', who appear to spend most of their lives trolling internet forums and discussion groups. It is believed that the recent proliferation of these 'entities' is as a direct result of the 'X-Factor' society in which many attention-seekers clamour for fame. The first modern signs of this presence were recognised by Andy Warhol when he proclaimed, "In the future, everyone will be world-famous for 15 minutes".
In fact, some researchers have found early evidence as far back as stone-age cave paintings ... it would appear that a number of these paintings were 'defaced' by additional drawings being added on top. This led one researcher to describe the phenomenon as 'Prehistoric Look-at-me' or 'PL' for short.
This so excited a number of modern trolls that they formed their own club, 'The Prehistoric Look-at-me Society'. As you may have gathered, our own resident troll is member no. 54.
It is rumoured that his energetic work and enterprise has been acknowledged by KU Leuven. Those who have been reading the 'KM Out' thread will be aware of Daisy's award from this institution - https://www.law.kuleuven.be/vrgalumni/alumniprijs - PL54 is expected to receive an award for his consistent deliberate attempts to provoke response or discord on Charlton Life. KU Leuven have seen this a brave attempt to salvage Daisy's reputation.
Hope this helps to clarify the issue.

Looking forward to your hilarious reply.

The thing that annoys me the most about PL54 is that whoever they are, they aren't an idiot.mogodon said:Best thing is to ignore PL54. His kind thrive on the attention their posts generate so don't give it them.
I gave an answer on the stress balls question that I thought gave an answer.
They have been called stress balls because it's easy to explain. The product was chosen for its size, colour and cost and the combination of which would mean more on the pitch.
The description may have been picked to target the perceived pressure the regime is under but is not important to the choice.
An answer which was then ignored because it was broadly factually accurate and not amusing to pick on.
A contrarian view is good, who doesn't like a debate. But if you are going to pick at nonsense details, expect to be ridiculed.16 -
Perhaps the previous few hundred asinine / deliberately provocative / smart-arse posts from you have led people to not take too much of what you say seriously even on the occasions when you happen to make a valid / sensible point?PL54 said:

All I asked was why stress balls were chosen and folks got all uppity.
Bollocks. Just ignored my own advice.8 -

It takes a sad sort of being to spend so much time riling others up without offering anything insightful/of substance/intelligent themselves. So you know, he's a troll and he's a cun-mmm- ...mberland sausage(?!), and it's not worth baiting someone so unfulfilled.
PL54, I genuinely mean this - I'm sorry for you. Genuinely sorry for you.2 -
I don't have any specific info on exactly why they were chosen, but you could hazard a guess, maybe it's because they are SOFT?? Crazy idea right?PL54 said:

I was impressed how quickly they cleared the stress balls from the pitch, thought that would be an absolute nightmare for them0

At the Boro game, she sat their grinning as she knew that the cameras would be on her at some point during the protest. For the Brum game, I looked up at her while the stress balls were being cleared and she was certainly not grinning. She had a scowl on her face and looked decidedly unhappy with all the protests. Despite her joint statement with MPS. Despite Roland's "Statement". Despite the Club's "Joint Statement" about the protests. She was and remains powerless to stop us. We are winning! We have to keep up the pressure and get the two of them out of our club.mogodon said:Any reports on whether Squirrel Face managed to grin her way through the latest protest or is she struggling to retain her legendary sense of humour?

Think we need to keep going smaller. Brussel sprouts next time. Then peas (keeping to the vegetable theme). Then we hit a problem as I don't think sand will get too much distance. So perhaps we go to space hoppers.10

I'm sorry you can't take that bag of Brussels sprouts in I'm confiscating them.0

Everybody in the lower west should eat a bowl of Brussel sprouts before the game and drink a couple of pints of Real ale...that should get a reactionAlwaysneil said:I'm sorry you can't take that bag of Brussels sprouts in I'm confiscating them.

Just a suggestion. If you wanted to create even more chaos could we have balls with a number on. 0,5,10 etc...(sharpie pen). Chuck yours on at the minute given. This will keep a constant flow of balls and constant stoppages.
Sorry, this is probably taking things too far.2 -
Thanks to RD and KM, we'll be derdeklasse next year. I like being tweedeklasse but I fear we'll be vierdeklasse before too long if this regime stays in placeAFKABartram said:0 -

Plastic rats like the Florida Panthers. The team actually provide the rats for the fans to chuck on the ice there!1

We have an ice hockey club in Calgary that actually encourages this type of thing...

Do they collect them for charity or something Oakster?0
-
Yes - they are collected & sent out to local hospitals, children's homes & charity auctions etc all 28,000 of them - many delivered by the players themselves.aliwibble said:Do they collect them for charity or something Oakster?
Perhaps in happier days to come a similar thing could be done at Charlton for the local charities given how well practised our fanbase is at chucking things on the pitch these days.5 - Sponsored links:

It's a good job Hull don't do this every time they score. We might still be up there at the KC stadium.2 -
I think some people asking for different timings on stuff being thrown on don't realise how many teardrops and blame for a loss /draw some fans would put on CARD if this happened
If we were 0-1 down or drawing and something was lobbed on second half and delayed the game , plenty of punters would have a whinge up that this affected the result if we failed to win
So IMO I think the early disruption that has been done in the last two home games is the right thing to do , once the inevitable relegation is confirmed to me it's a free for all and anything goes

I've found it really amusing that we've won the last two fixtures where CARD have really stepped things up a notch, I suspect it's shut a few people up - and I dread to think what would've been said had the results been reversed.6
