Millenium Lounge
For personal reasons I have been a member of Crossbars since it opened and (along with a lot of friends) was compulsorily transferred to the Millennium Lounge last season at a slightly increased cost.
I now find that the club in its wisdom wants to treble, yes treble the price of the lounge pass for next season.
Last seasons match ticket and pass came to £440, now they want £685.
The last time I encountered this type of scam was in Soho.
Am I the only one that is thinking, I don't like being made a mug so I won't go?

I aint no good at maths but 3x 440 isn't 685 surely0
-
Unless the 440 includes the season ticket and the 685 doesn't?
Edit: even that wouldn't work out0 -
I think he means
ST + Pass = 440
ST + NewPass = 685
and NewPass = 3xPass
(making ST = 317.5, Pass = 122.5 and NewPass = 367.5)
Unless there's a lot more on offer, it's still a shocking increase0 -
Assuming no change in seat or change in price of seat:nth london addick said:I aint no good at maths but 3x 440 isn't 685 surely
S + L = 445
S + 3L = 685
S = 445 - L
445 + 2L = 685
2L = 240
L = 120
S = 325
where S = cost of seat and L = cost of pass.
I don't know the background to the Crossbars switch but approx £5 per game for lounge access was never going to be sustainable longer term.0 -
Not much good at reading either obviously ;-)nth london addick said:I aint no good at maths but 3x 440 isn't 685 surely

Isn't there a bar that is free for all season ticket holders now?
What's the problem?0 -
Crossbars is free next season isn't it?
I'd go back there and think of it as a saving.1 -
Crossbars is now free before and after the game I think.East_Stand_Loopy said:Isn't there a bar that is free for all season ticket holders now?

Presumably the experience in the Millenium Lounge (that name needs an update btw) will be better next season ?0 -
I paid £100 for this season which was a sweetner as I was 'forced' to switch from Crossbars because of the balls up. Now, as m2 says, the fee for next season is £300. I'll be using Crossbars for free and hoping it won't be as packed as Bartrams!0

Oh well, looks like an empty underused lounge will be moving from one stand to another3

Thanks guys, I didn't know Crossbars was available or free so that answers the problem.

Wasn't it called the Millenium Lounge because that was the year it was built!, and isnt it still the year it was built? Perhaps we could call it the M+15 suite for the rest of the year.0 -

Yes, but "Millenium" sounded good at the turn of the Millenium, not so good now, especially when there's a "Leaburn Lounge" just needing to be christened !3 -
Perhaps the equation is:
RD + CAFC = unknown quantity
Where:
"S" (Supporters) have a value of < 0
"T" (Ticket Prices) > last time
"P" (Players) have a value of ?
"A" (Alternative) = 0

But at least now you can get a decent Pi5

Let's have a survey.Halix said:Presumably the experience in the Millenium Lounge (that name needs an update btw) will be better next season ?
My vote goes for The Jose Riga (JR) Lounge
'The Fans' Bar' has been referred to in all Season Ticket comms hasn't it - certainly on cafc.co.ukm2 said:Thanks guys, I didn't know Crossbars was available or free so that answers the problem.

Yeah, "Millenium" is no longer relevant is it? But frankly I find the "lounge" bit worse. It smacks of wasting your life sitting around in an airport. Perhaps we should have a show biz style Green Room?0 -

I paid £250 last year for millennium lounge access. Gone up to £300 this season but not renewing. It's always too busy, can't get a seat unless you get there 3/4 hour before! Service poor too...0

But it probably won't be too busy next season, which is why they have hiked the price.cafc-west said:I paid £250 last year for millennium lounge access. Gone up to £300 this season but not renewing. It's always too busy, can't get a seat unless you get there 3/4 hour before! Service poor too...
It makes sense to me. A lounge is too busy, so put the price up and the numbers will be more comfortable.
All the chavs can then go to Crossbars for free. Simples.
PS I would be one of the chavs

I've had a millennium pass this season and paid £280. I got it because I take my son and changing a nappy at a football ground is a bloody nightmare.
HOEWEVER
I bought a pint of lime and lemonade the other week . I was asked if I wanted 2 or 4 shots of lime. It cost me £5.50. When I challenged it I was told its £2 per half and 75p per shot. So it would have been £7 for a drink if I'd wanted 4shots! Bargain!0 -
Did they confuse "lemonade" for "champagne" and "lime" for "cocaine" ?Swisdom said:I've had a millennium pass this season and paid £280. I got it because I take my son and changing a nappy at a football ground is a bloody nightmare.

Absolutely scandalous.2 -
Good job you didn't ask for a pint of lime, would be about £20 I reckon.Swisdom said:I bought a pint of lime and lemonade the other week . I was asked if I wanted 2 or 4 shots of lime. Does anyone know what a match day cost of this is as have been invited by client but work needs to know before they will sign off.... Thanks0
-
No but 'not worth it' is probably a reasonable assumption1
-
£15 each I think.
For that you get to pay extortionate amounts for a drink or have free coffee
I think it's that coffee where the beans are hand picked by monkeys and then shat out. I only say that because that's how it tastes. Just there's no coffee bean in there5 -
I've never seen the point of paying to go into one of these lounges and I doubt I ever will.
Every time I've been in there (not often) the "atmosphere ", if you can call it that, is sterile, dull and just not football to me. Each to their own though.1
