Second time I noticed that apparently PL54 has left a comment on a thread, but nothing appears.

I know he's a WUM and a bit of a prat, but suppressing his (albeit ridiculous) comments seems OTT.

Virtually every thread on the front page at the moment is showing the most recent comment as being by PL54, but none of the comments are actually visible on the thread. I'm wondering if they possibly need to be pre-approved before they're shown?
Like him or loathe him that would be bad. I would have hoped this is a forum for all opinions.
Unless it's because of any personal abuse or remarks that are racist, sexist etc.

Did anything happen today or were those 4 camels the sole demonstration?

And the boycott of buying anything from the club. Was probably the quietest day for a long while protest wise? Something massive must be being planned for Brighton.
  • I'm guessing once we are officially relegated, the next step is getting a game abandoned at the valley be it against Brighton or Burnley

A few Brussel sprouts were thrown and some half hearted Roland outs.

Felt today's game and atmosphere lacked a proper protest today- last few home games where things have been thrown onto the pitch really jeered up the crowd and got the up for it , but with nothing planned today it was very flat and dull!

Hopefully ALOT planned for next Saturday , including things on the pitch!

Oh and we lost today , no protest and a loss - coincidence?

seems good tactics to me. No point in giving KM ammunition that the protests caused relegation, but next week.........

Well done @Arsenetatters and friends. I've never uploaded a photo onto Charlton Life so hope this works. The picture isn't great I'm afraid.

She was - sat much further down in the Directors Box near to the Derby contingent which included Harry Redknapp & Paul Ince. Must have been feeling braver today.

We met 3 blokes from Dubai who didn't take offence at all. They wondered what it was all about and then shook our hands.

And if she'd gone on holiday to the USA would cowboy hats and other stereotypical 'Americana' also be 'a bit racist'...?
Some people look for things to take offence at and almost delight when they find something.
I'm sure they do, and if that's how you see my reaction so be it. It's the characterization of a group of people, particularly those who lack in social privilege, that I take issue with. Being American, no, would not have a problem with the cowboy hats and such because of the different perceptions of the two countries/regions. Privilege and status have a lot to do with this. Can go into more depth, but may be simpler if we simply agree to disagree.
I've never been to a country where the native population has more "social privilege" than the United Arab Emirates.

outside the West stand - if they buy us I shall never wash the hand I shook them with. In fact I am keeping it dry in a plastic bag just in case
