Thanks Henry, good report that. It's easy to look at the overall results and the way that the CEO treats the fans and put two and two together without really understanding the level of her incompetence. But hearing those stories directly related to the playing side, shows what a total farce her management of the club is.

No wonder Yann was so scathing of the way the club is being run. Thanks for the feedback as depressing as it is.

We are all on the outside and we are depressed, angry and upset - I would imagine is must be far worse being in that toxic atmosphere every day

Just to back up what HI said, I too was told the same by some players last night.

    I was also told:

    - Some players had agreed extensions to there contracts with KM but when it came to putting pen to paper the deal mysteriously disappeared with KM saying that she knew nothing of it.
    - Not many people rate Riga and that he has undertaken some training sessions in French
    - Some players think that Riga has already been told what his future is
    - KM had asked senior players what was needed to avoid relegation and when they told her she didn't act (They even told her 5/6 players that were ready to sign and keen to come)
    - The players do not want to see any game get abandoned but agreed with the stoppages at the start
    - The lie about the players not liking the POTY dinner was met with dismay by every player I asked (which was practically all of them)
    - Simon Clarke had the respect of every player

Any truth in the story on Facebook saying the players have been asked not to go away before a certain date (15th May) in case either of the last 2 home games is abandoned and needs to be replayed?

    Yes, 13th May.

New rules say games have to be replayed within 7 days according to two players i spoke to

So work on Sparrows Lane being suspended turns out to be nothing more than unsubstantiated rumour. It also points to the likelihood of RD still being the owner next season and that all talk of RD selling up is just that: talk.
  • Wow... Shame that the players cant be named as would love to hear who was stating this.

I know you cant say but were they true Charlton players or mainly signings coming out with the comments?

Oh well in that case everything in the garden is rosy. Don't know what these protests are all about.

Not really sure what the difference is between a true Charlton player or a signing?

Not naming names and as CAFC999 has said it wasn't just one or two players saying these things
  • Thanks Henry. Very interesting.

I could cry over much of what you say. But the thing that sticks out is surely that a deal was agreed to bring Yann back, he was ready to sign and then the deal collapsed. I despair.

Whilst everyone must make their own decision on whether to renew their season ticket - it's an individual decision that each person must take taking their own circumstances into consideration - when you read the above, and hear what the players say about the farce this club now is, I am surprised that anyone should want to renew their season ticket at this time.

Sorry meant players who have been here for a while... through the academy

Dont worry understand the reasoning behind not actually naming any players as we've got to think of their careers
  • I keep hearing very good things about Simon Clarke. I wonder if he will be here in any capacity next season? Imagine him doing the coaching and Powell doing the signings/man management.

    One can dream.

    Cheers for the reports guys.

I feel like this is a really big moment. I mean we all know how hopeless she is, but now it's actually coming from the players directly...

Thanks @Henry Irving and @cafc999 ehat you report is some of what I heard a month ago.

Some of the events and behaviours around the turn of the year / Jan window were absolutely ridiculous and will I'm sure come out in more detail over the next few weeks.

But the club was / is an absolute total shambles and everyone in the game knows it, none more than our own players
  • Pricks always knew we'd be at risk of relegation.

Why else have they just done a short Early-Bird Season Ticket offer before releasing them on General Sale, if they were truly as shocked as they should have been, that early bird offer would surely have gone on for a bit longer as a gesture of good will!!

So the owner (despite being in town), CEO and chairman didn't attend a sponsors dinner?

Hopefully because they were busy selling the club.

If not, it is a clear sign we are winning.

It was also a kind thing to do. People had paid for a meal and the sight of that lot would have put them off eating it.
Went to a few in the past and pretty sure just players and managers usually go to this- I.e. kit sponsoring

Bit odd then that the Sparrows Lane hold-up was briefed to a senior management meeting last week in March and Richard Murray is positioning himself to remain chairman under an Elliott-fronted takeover.

Who knows if the Elliott thing stacks up? Everything is talk unless it happens, but it's certainly being explored.

I wonder if we will be able to sign new players under these circumstances. Everything heard so far makes me sad and angry.

And I'm sure that each and every one of them would have regretted it, had they signed.
I expect the majority of the players currently on the books are exploring ways to get away from the club.

Thanks for the report, Henry. Pretty ghastly mood all round it seems, although it sounds like more fun than I thought it would be.

We were Tony Watt's sponsor this season, then Lookman's, but couldn't face going to be honest. Got drunk in Simpsons and then the Jampot instead.

Spoke briefly to Riga and he was pretty low key. I didn't get a hint that he knew his future although one player seemed to think he did and that it wasn't good (for Riga). Meeting with RD tomorrow according to one player.

Yes, he's been asked to stay on and work more closely with Katrien
