I knew this would get peoples juices going so thought it best to be the second picture - get people warmed up for the rest!

    Seems it worked!

Was it a gin and tonic ice cream. That was fantastic but the brewery is great all round.

Do they have things like that in Austria?

    Whisky.

Dont know. Does Roly have a club in Austria so we could protest and find out ?!

Whats the next club to protest at lads ? - i quite fancy Alcorcon when they are playing Barca next season.

The brewery is what heaven must be like. Great beer, fantastic building and table service from angels.

surprised in the lack of media coverage in the UK - we are all over Belgian media today! definitely didn't have the support back home we had the last time. a shame really! missed opportunity.

Contacted SLP and Newshopper and nothing from either :(perhaps it was because this wasn't a CARD protest?

Fairly sure the last time we went it wasn't a CARD protest...

The coffin appears to be recyclable.

You do though mr murdoch

It isn't cards fault - what im trying to say mate is that it seems now the media will only pic stuff up if it comes from CARD or CAST.
I think it was more to do with the fact that it was announced before so it wasn't a "shock", plus it had already been done.

The Last time you fine bunch of Guys Played away,
    We were a championship side.

Now we are a League 1 side and the interest from the mass Media will be less.

We have gone from a medium size fiiiish to a small Fiiiish.

If you are interested, you'd get a good reception in Jena. I've got a contact from one of their Ultra group. It's not Madrid, but it's quite lively place and the club is proud of its history.

Yep, that and the fact that it was the same weekend as the biggest demo yet at The Valley. Unfortunately Charlton's press saturation point is rather less than for a club like Arsenal or Chelsea. They just won't put a lot of stuff about us in, because they don't consider it of wider interest.

And most of the local journo's would have been concentrating on Palace.

So there were many reasons. All CARD's fault though.

What I don't get is why it matters? The guys did a fabulous job that would have pissed Roland/Katrien off. Surely that's the only thing that matters.

I don't get why people are so hung up on recognition - who cares what the Newshopper report. We should care that Roland was "incensed" and that this is another worthy protest.

    Hey ho.

    Hey ho.
The point is to raise awareness! I'm not able to continue to fund going out to Belgium! I also have a baby on the way.
We want others to see this and say "I want to get involved in this and go the next time" Charlton life doesn't represent the full fan base - so the media is important to help gain a bigger protest front out in Belgium!

At the moment unless others who went to either trip step up it is doubtful that this will happen again.

I can understand where you're coming from Joe, but Neil does have a point - we need to keep interest up in order that we can continue doing this on a bigger scale time-after-time. If it doesnt have a higher profile in the meeja then others wont get the desire to go next time, and the protests will die off.
Its clear that RD doesnt care what happens in SE7, but he clearly doesnt like what we do on his door step, in my view this has the biggest impact - and if we dont get the meeja profile then it will die a death and we will be back with hardly any/or no protests anywhere - and then our club will be f****d by a Thief/Thug/Snake (all words used by STVV fans whilst there) like RD, and the only exit for OUR club will be when he pegs it- and all the fans have left for other things to do/West Ham.
We cant let it die with a whimper.

BTW, this is not having a pop at CARD - i think they do a fantastic job - just think that the Belgian trips need to have a higher profile to let him know that we will continue to do this. Our trips hurt him - we have evidence of that.
  • So people will be less likely to go because they weren't recognised for it?

They wouldn't want to go again because they did a great thing and have helped the fight against the regime while also having a good time?

    Unique.
  • Yourself and Neil have said they're not going to organise another one - why?

Also, if you are wanting them to be more high profile why would you not help that happen.

    I don't get it.
