Yourself and Neil have said they're not going to organise another one - why?

Also, if you are wanting them to be more high profile why would you not help that happen.

    I don't get it.

Joe, you're not listening - Neil and I have said we wont organise another one - because it takes too much out of my life - its a heck of a lot of work to plan and organise all this - as you would know.
I havnt said i wouldnt go on one again - but cant spend the time and effort and stress of planning it.

So people will be less likely to go because they weren't recognised for it?

They wouldn't want to go again because they did a great thing and have helped the fight against the regime while also having a good time?

    Unique.

Its not about recognition ! - its about raising the profile to get the next 'generation' of protesters want to do it next time- coz we cant keep on relying on the same old 20 to come along every time - regardless of how good the weekend actually is !.

To respond to your point about "I want to get involved in this and go the next time" - we smashed the media last time and didn't have an increase in the amount of people who went?

I just don't think there is as much interest in this as you think. It's not because CARD didn't put it in a statement that it didn't make the media FFS.

Well then it wont happen again in that case

We made the interest - and that is gone now.

Sleep easy Roland - Charlton fans aren't interested in protesting in Belgium and CARD dont want to go there.

I'm shocked by this to be honest! Beach balls and gimmicks wont do it Joe you know that!
Wow - think I'll leave it there.

I don't think I can afford the money or time needed for this, but I'm happy to throw a few quid in the Belgian front fund to help with material or to sub the fares.

For fucks sake everyone, this is embarrassing for all concerned and just denigrates what was achieved on the weekend.

Set up a group and argue if needs be, a public argument is exactly what the club would like to see.

Well, I'm going to say a big thank you to the lads for organising both trips.

Remember, they have paid for everything out of their own pockets.
And no doubt that's made a big dent in their personal funds.

Many are not in a position to do that ...... but perhaps there are others who are able to find the money and time, willing to take a turn for another trip?

Getting coverage of this in Belgium is more important than coverage in the UK, and apparently that was achieved right? I imagine it didn't get the same pick up in the UK this time as it wasn't something new. But the goal of the exercise, pissing off Roland and showing him up in Belgium, looks to have been another great success. Well done to all who went.

    I do agree.

    What they've done is sensational.

Out of interest, are the STTV fans going to take up protesting against Duchatelet after the Charlton visits? Is there sufficient discontent for the Charlton contagion to spread throughout his network?

From what I've read, the impression I get is that they don't like him at all but seem resigned to their fate.

@iainment FYI protest fund do not and have not sub(bed) fares.

Protest fund paid for Leaflets - posters - Outfits - coffin - and some other sundries

I was also asked to point out it was the PROTEST FUND not CARD they dont own the fund.

There was also other fans who donated cash direct to us! That was put towards paying for the group hotel room bill over there. And one supporter paid for the total cost of another supporter.
  • I think the two Belgium trips have been superb.

    Well done all.

I'll leave it at that because it isn't worth arguing over.

Joe, i dont think we are arguing about it - we are just trying to put our points over - they are not that far apart tbh - ultimate goal for both is obviously to get shot of RD- just a slightly different view in terms of how we get there - its healthy - believe me !

Well said Andy Mametz. Knew we could rely on a civil servant to put it clearly and concisely . :)

which is why I didn't say protest fund. I specifically said I'd put something towards the Belgian activities.

Sorry, meant to quote olster's post before that. I'm sure the fund would want it pointed out also.

Oh right, I see. I missed that nuance. Fair play.

Now, the only problem with this photo we discovered after the event is that the photographer actually works for STVV - therefore they have the perfect mugshot of all of us,even smiling, probably banned for life from entering STVV's ground !
Joined the club then after me and the other person.....you still put on a show WELL DONE.
