From his article today :-

"but i think back to 1992/93 when i was on the terraces as the club returned to The Valley"

WHAT FLAMMING TERRACES

Far be it from me to give our new CEO a history lesson but we came back to an all seater ground with no terraces.

Either the new CEO has been badley misinformed or his lack of history of OUR club is badly lacking.

maybe just an expression? he didn't say "standing" did he? I still refer to them in the most part as "terraces" on grounds even though most are "stands"

Correct me if I`m wrong, but wasn`t the high terrace although closed except for a walkway still there?

There was a walkway across the East Stand to get to the Jimmy Seed stand.

Stricly speaking a terrace is raised level space so you could say the seats sit on terraces.

The important point is that Waggott has been coming to watch the club for many years and hasn't just been parachuted in with no idea of the club's history or ethos. He's been in the area for around 20 years if I remember what he told me correctly.

Nit picking in the extreame IMHO Johnny, to dig the guy out over this. When he sells Shelvey for £100 and moves us to ground share with Hartlepool then that is the time to have a go ; - )

Charlton fan in tediously pedantic post to web forum? The club's clearly gone downhill. What's that Waggott done for us, eh? ;-)
