I thought he did well - excellent left foot, good vision, a bit of added steel in the middle and in the right place to score. Maybe not quite in the class of Andy Reid, but the next best thing?

hasn't got enough pace to play wide on a regular basis but could make an excellant central midfielder

I agree that he looked good in that position and didn't deserve to be subbed (unless he was injured), but the next best thing to Andy Reid........give me strength.

Its like saying Jerome Thomas is the next best thing to Cristiano Ronaldo.

I don't remember Andy Reid being that fast...

If he's got a pacey full back behind him, ie Youga not Thatcher, I think it could work.

And in the Championship on our finances, you end up with JT not CR.

    I agree Weegie.

He appears a major 'confidence' player to me. It was evident how it drained away from him after a couple of mistakes at Blackpool. A good pre-season, and forcing into the starting 11 is his next aim. If he held a spot down for 10-15 games, i think he will really step up as a player from the confidence that would bring.

He was injured - if you remember he went down near the west stand soon after his goal and had to receive treatment to his hip. He was holding his hip when he went to the bench I think.
