haha yes I can confirm the bright pink dress, the heavies and the smirk we have come to detest.

Despite her look at me tactics she was largely ignored.

Well, there you go then. When you've got morons like these people queuing up to have their picture taken with KM and not queing up to slap her then it tells you just what sort of fan will generally attend this event.

Not knocking them, but I guess they're just "nice" people who don't like to cause a fuss and are happy to shell out £37 for a dry carvery meal with a load of overpaid underperforming "heroes" of theirs.

Much more important that they have a good time. Best not share any conversations with players either. Not the done thing.

    Not for me.

As I've said before, I've attended many of these evenings, but gave this year's a wide berth. Again, as I've said before, the organisers deserve a lot of credit, more so this year than any other I have attended.
But, the £37 price was one of the things that did put me off, being vegetarian that's alot of money to pay for what is basically a £4 meal, if that.

And, if I was in the company of "that woman" and actually saw people being nice to her......

Sorry Fanny, you know me well, you must have the patience of a Saint.

Some people had their picture taken with Keohane, I bet that made his night.

I'm glad Roger Johnson made an effort for the evening

    Haha.

I had my picture taken by @Arsenetatters as I was giving Mr Keohane the benefit of a few well chosen words...

Good grief. Who the hell would want a picture taken with him?

The German Addicks are interseted in joining next years event. This year we missed it, because we expected it to be next Sunday. When will the POTY Dinner be scheduled for next year?

Is this an attempt to get your jackets on the back of the chairs a year early ?

I loved the old POTY pre premiership days when it was in a pub, no dinner just beers with the players - some cracking nights back then.

Times obviously change, it's a lot more organized(and well done) now, but those unguarded days where more my scene.

Well done to those who work very hard organizing.

Selhurst days before The Valley had a new portakabin we looked long and hard for appropriate venues.
I think that we only did the pub one year from memory in Greenwich. Moved it to the Black Prince when Curbs and Gritty were in charge.
Pleased that you liked the pub but I got the feeling that it was a bit too lively ud we were to keep the club and players on board.

Someone who wants to photoshop themself out of it, blow it up and stick it on their dartboard?

    Surely they weren't searching bags?

Three burly bouncers looking for stress balls and inflatables. There is a certain synergy there.

    Did anyone confront Katrien?

Please tell me she didn't leave the event without getting an earful from someone.

Yes, at least one person I know of. She was, however, flanked by 3 heavies for most of the evening.

They were also searching bags as people went in.
David Badjumper was never more than 3-ft away from her all evening although I suspect this is because if he was any further away then his response time would be somewhat compromised...
Can't believe people were actually having their pictures taken with her, how very unique.

Agree with previous posts Riga's speech was a goodbye speech.

No surprises that many of the players didn't know what was happening to them but the general feeling was a lot would move on.

Clearly a big rift between the senior management and the players, but again no real surprise.

All in all a well run supporters evening, well done Jean and Ian.

You are joking right? If not, then whoever has had a picture taken with her needs to have a serious word with themself.
No joke promise it's true. One guy I recognised and know where he sits !!!
He should be ashamed of himself. Some people seriously haven't got a clue.
The cult of celebrity - the kind of numbskulls who would have their picture taken with Peter Sutcliffe if they could.
    And autographs as well.
Has anyone checked Companies House website today?

The companies house website shows 4 mortgages statisfied on 30 April for Charlton Athletic Holdings Limited. I cannot see what they relate to. Maybe Airman knows?

You're right. It seemed like the good old german way to get your place reserved. But you have to deal early with your family to get a weekend off for these occasions/Charlton trips.

Like the Kit Sponsors' dinner - a bitter-sweet evening. Great interaction with the players. A dignified and heartfelt speech by JR. A totally deserved award for FF. Everything tinged with the inescapable sadness of The Relegation That Should Never Have Happened. Classy fans, classy players ....

I've said it before and I'll say it again - fans betrayed, players betrayed, our remarkable club betrayed. We deserve much, much better and one day better times will indeed return.

Btw, bag search ? Make it no mind - just another sign of an organisation under siege ....

Excellent summary GHF. Very good speech from JR, summed things up beautifully. Noticeable for thanking just about every one, except KM and RD who didn't get a mention. Am sure he feels as let down as us, and his players. So pleased FF got her much deserved award, she was totally oblivious it was going to be her, so made it all the better. My grateful thanks to her and KJL for making it such a superb evening, when at one time it looked as though it would not happen at all. How a certain person had the nerve to show her face (and her Dubai tan) at an event she tried to take away from us, I have no idea. Was pleased she was not allowed on the "top table" to give her the attention she craves. Hoping those who got autographs from her are copying it like mad today, and there will be another resignation letter from "her" in the coming days. Also, it was not a dry carvery meal, we were served with a very tender chicken breast cooked in sauce, with trimmings. As for what was said, why do people who have no interest in paying £37 to attend themselves think the rest of should should repeat anything said? If there was no internet, we would not be taking out a column in the local rag, so why should we post here? Anyone who thinks they've missed out, should go next year, then you won't.

@HantsAddick, not sure if your post was a criticism of myself and/or others who decided to give last night a miss.
    If it wasn't, I apologise.
If it was, I think it was a cheap shot.
Ask the organisers, I have paid and attended many of these evenings, but, £37 to go to an event where as a vegetarian of 36 years to me, personally, is an insult.

*(edit) I mean as for the food, nothing else. Sorry.

Thanks. The bank loan for the north stand has been paid down so the charges relating to that should now have been released. But I'll have a look.
