    Yet another very good article outlining our plight. It'll possibly be our last exposure in a national newspaper for a while with the season ending but it has been, in a way, refreshing to see such support from top sports journalists. They all seem to be on the same wavelength as us fans though perhaps see things from different angles.

    Same same but different, as they say in Thailand.

    Agreed. It's the latest in a long line of reports that have been absolutely scathing about the ownership. Our communications consultant or whatever he's called this week must be tearing his hair out to see how the clubs board and ownership is so consistently ridiculed for their meddling and mistakes.

    Just thought I'd get that out of the way now.

    Very strong article which I fear will be ignored by those at the club and by Roland.

    The best they can say is "we've learnt from our mistakes" but they are such slow and reluctant learners that long to revert to their old ways.

    In the meantime the damage done to reputation makes it harder and.
    harder to attract good players, good coaches and retain good fans.

    Duchatelet in his SLP article earlier this season, says that he lets the CEO and managers of the club get on with it without interference. Obviously a complete misrepresentation of what is going on that the club.

    Its going to be very difficult to find a decent manager, British or otherwise who will put up with that.

    Katrien Meire has been CEO whilst all of this has been going on. She has got to go.

    Good article.

    Worryingly it offers no alternative or a way out. In Kay's view we're part way through a long decline and its it's difficult to argue with that.

    I think that is probably the best article of all of the national reports and demonstrates yet again perfect understanding from Powell of what this football club is all about.
    This, with Rick's great article in VOTV, sum up the situation from both the fan and business perspective.
    Roland is a complete joke of an owner and Katrien's tenure as CEO has been an utter farce.
    They have both been shown up for what they are.

    There's an article about Brighton in today's Telegraph in which Paul Barber, their Chief Exec, says on player recruitment, "One of the things I’ve learned over 20 years in football is there’s no point providing a manager with players he doesn’t want. That is the most pointless exercise in football. Not only do you waste money, which is the most obvious outcome, but you produce disharmony.

    “The manager’s unhappy that he’s got players he just doesn’t want in his group. Or the player’s unhappy because he knows the manager doesn’t want him in the group. Either way it’s totally counterproductive not to start and end with the manager on recruitment."

    Compare and contrast with our own situation Katrien.

    OK article but we need to move on from stuff about the departure of Powell and the appearance and disappearance in a few weeks in 2014 of Anil Koc and others. The bigger point is that we could be where Leicester, Burnley, Swansea, Watford and Southampton are.

    Roland's determination to stick with a pre-determined budget (which works ok for Sint Truiden and Alcorcon) means our future may be spent instead oscillating between League 1 and League 2. If he sold, yes it might change. But he isn't selling, as far as we know. He might pop his clogs.........but if he did we're wrapped up in a dynasty now. Roderick Duchatelet would take over. The parallels with Blackpool and the Oyston family are not exactly encouraging.

    If RD has truly learned from his mistakes he would put his first mistake right and appoint Powell. Even Powell's detractors can't deny he knows how to get out of League One!
