All the best to you and your family, a very close friend is going through it at the moment, so you have me and Mrs Algarve's every good wish.

    Hi all,

Agnes and I would like to say a massive thank you to all those who have offered us support and kind words of encouragement.

We were both deeply touched by the sponsorship that has been pledged by fellow Lifers.

I'll report back, perhaps with a photo or 2, after the ride.

    Matt and Agnes.

Thank you for today's donations and encouraging comments!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just to show how amazing Charlton Life is, the Charlton Lifers have pledged far more than my 200 odd Facebook friends.

I am proud to be one of you.

I have been unable to tank one of the Lifers who made a donation, because they did not give their username and I don't want to publically mention their real name.

If it was you, then thank you so much and apologies for not thanking you personally!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We are still a little way off our target but looking pretty healthy and the moment and I still have 2 weeks left.

Bit of an update. My girlfriend Agnes, had scans last week and a consultation yesterday.

The oncologists have said that the chemotherapy and radiotherapy seems to have worked and there is currently no signs of Cancer. They called it a 'perfect result'.

She will need follow up appointments at 3 month intervals but the news is very encouraging. Fingers crossed that the tumour doesn't return.

I am going into my bike ride on Thursday with a real feeling of optimism. Huge thanks to The Royal Marsden.

    Hi all.

I just wanted to let all those Lifers who sponsored me and sent their best wishes, that I finished my sponsored cycle yesterday.

In the end I covered 190 miles on the canals from Birmingham to Godalming in Surrey. I took me 2 and a half days and 21 hours in the saddle. I am sore and sunburned, but have no injuries.

It was fun, hard, boring, lonely and very satisfying.

Thank you to my lovely girlfriend for organising a welcoming party at the finish.

I would like to thank everybody for their kind words and generous donations. image

Matt. Just seen this. Great effort on your part, and strength to you and your family. I'm one of many who take football to seriously, and I'm sure there are a lot of people who would listen to me and say 'I wish my problems were as silly as a team run by Belgians'. There's more to life, but given the doctors tests on Agnes, there is hope too.
    Be strong mate.
