Nigel Adkins

Let's get real. We may like/want Nigel Adkins, but would he even want to join us? I mean, I like Cristiano Ronaldo, but he ain't gonna play for us is he? No British manager with any sense would join Charlton with RD and his puppet pulling the strings, unable to decide on transfers, told who to play. Adkins et al would be mad to join, or desperate for a years pay in six months before getting the sack! No, let's oust Roland and then talk about getting in a decent manager...1

Perfect credentials to be a Charlton manager thenThe Red Robin said:
I must say I'm edging towards this opinion too having seen them play at Brammal Lane this season. They lost to Millwall. Unforgivable.Greenie Junior said:Awful at Sheffield United last season, hated by blades fans after one season. It's a no from me

A yes from me .
We need an experienced manager who has a proven track record in this League . He has that with both Scunthorpe and Sheffield United .
Given that they had already been in L1 for four years I do not feel that ten months is not long enough for the Blades to have given him a proper chance .
If we appoint him then we need him to be in place for at least two to three years to make an impact .1 -
Yes but he won't come for the reasons Wilder turned us down2

But he took Southampton from league one to the Premier!
I'd say that was more down to their budget than his managerial skills0 -
PLEASE NO COTTERILL!1

Cotterill would be VERY acceptable to me .. his leaving Brissol indicates that he's not a yes man and he has the necessary disciplinarian streak to get our players out of their collective stupor .... he knows this division.. AND he might even persuade Luke Freeman to return to his spiritual home ((:>) .. I'd far prefer him to (e.g.) Adkinscolin1961 said:Steve Cotterill wants the job

Whoever we get is whoever begs for it the best out of the unemployed that need another job to pay their bills.0

We can throw around any names we like, but we can rule out anyone who wants to sign his own players and play his own team. Which leaves a tiny field of people any of us have heard of but a lot of candidates desperate for a job regardless of ability. Still, we can trust Squirrel Face to whittle down the list to the best candidate.0

I want Paul Tisdale2

Stick a tenner on him and you will see him with very short odds. The bookies don't have a scooby any more than us.dizzee said:I want Paul Tisdale

Nigel Adkins would be a sensible choice. An experienced & successful manager in English football, sensible, level headed, managed in the division we are in next season so knows the players and opposition and has managed in the division above. Overall probably a better choice than Chris Wilder. So that won't happen then.....1
-
its got to be Roberto Martinez, he has been in League One before0
-
Paul Tisdale would be another excellent choice. His teams play excellent football, has a reputation for giving youth a chance and can work within a tight budget. So that won't happen then......dizzee said:I want Paul Tisdale

He had a good squad, with the likes of Lallana, Lambert, Fonte schniderlin (spelling) we've got, Sarr, BA, Reza and Morgan Fox.uie2 said:But he took Southampton from league one to the Premier!

Are WSC letters page contributors pompous farts? Or is there more than one Perry in Portugal? A good letter anyway, if it was indeed you.Algarveaddick said:Is the poster a pompous fart?

No, but I'm not sure about people who fail to appreciate the point of putting 'Discuss' on a statement.Algarveaddick said:Is the poster a pompous fart?
