The comment from KM about the fact we are matching the budget of the year we last got promoted in L1 says it all. That was a very very low budget, it was the miracle work of those behind the scenes & CP and co. finding so many freebies.

We will be a youth team this year - that's an ideal scenario for RD. Low wages and he thinks we can unearth gems like Lookman & Gomez often.

Predicted a very similar outcome almost 2 years ago when he took us over, turn us inside out and dry us of anything and everything. Utterly depressing.

By L1 standards it wouldn't be low though. I can't imagine the wages of Yann, BWP, Hamer, Wiggins, Haynes etc being insignificant

Half our current wage bill, as per the discussion with her yesterday.

Despite this, she thinks we'll be pleasantly surprised at who we manage to keep.

Not a clue how these fit together either.

If what the OP is reporting is true,this season is definitely going to be more Pawel Abbot than Yann Kermorgant

Surely the strategy has to be to return to the Championship so first assess players we want and don't want or can't realistically keep - assess losses (speculated to be £7m) Cover that with sales (I would imagine JBG and Lookman would do it with a million or two to spare- alternative may be JBG, Cousins and Texeira). Then build around what is left! But we need a manager a.s.a.p. to plan it all!

They say we can't afford Tex, does that mean we can't afford to in terms of what the league allows us to spend on wages or are they saying the owner doesn't want to stump up the cash for him in League 1 and thinks we can do just as well with a cheaper player?

If it was Teixeira, Bauer, Kashi, Cousins, JBG, Lookman and Vetokele then that's OK, but it's more likely:

Fox, Johnson, Jackson, Bergdich, Ceballos, Ba and Harriott

Just ban him like you did PL54.

PL54 was offensive with a bit of casual racism thrown in. You can't ban someone for being a bit of an annoying div.

As AFKA says just ignore him if he winds you up that much.

If we didn't get all the responses then his few comments would just be one of many in a thread.

Perhaps we can replace the PL54 ban with Colin1961!

Unlikely I'm afraid. They are three of our highest earners. I've been told if we can get them off the wage bill we will.

This summer is a complete rebuild job. I'm expecting a team built around Pope, Lennon & Jackson.
