Some of you ladies & gents may have known Darren, before he was hit with the illness that finally took his young life he was a frequent user of the Oak and also the conservative club, Darren passed away on monday at home. Darren, mate and I hope I may call you a mate although we didnt meet until late in life you are true gentlemen.
Darren, Rest in Peace my friend, at ease from the pain.
Love

Brave, brave man who deserves a great send off - wake in the Con Club on Thursday at 2.30 - sorry if I'm maudlin again but 2 great mates in one week is a bit too much, but we'll all get there in the end.

Darren had a fitting send off yesterday, mass followed by burial and then a wake in the Con Club afterwards. Mark Garvey the drummer delivered a wonderful eulogy and the exercise in restraint he undertook by managing to not swear in front of the Priest would have had Darren chuckling away on high. All in all a great send off for a very brave man. RIP Big Man.

Glad to hear it went OK RS.

Darren was a nice guy and it is so sad to lose people like him and so early in life too.

I share your admiration for Mark not swearing - that has to be a first! And yes Darren would have found that very, very funny!
