Misunderstood at first.

To clarify, when we say the "end of each round," we mean round of matches, and not "tournament round," e.g. group phase, round of 16, etc., correct?

In that case I will go with Switzerland S'il vous plaît.

Correct SD.
Next 'Round' will be matches 13-24, and so on - there are 7 'rounds' in total and therefore you will need 7 teams in the whole tournament. What happened in the World Cup was that everyone,bar one, got eliminated by the semis.

Its tricky, coz theres ALWAYS one team that people lump onto by the qualifiers that craps out , because of trying to save the big teams til last, and all of a sudden half of you are gone.
