Just posted on the NEWSHOPPER WEBSITE.
Peter Varney has demanded Katrien Meire retracts her comments regarding his takeover bid and a move away from the Valley.
Meire claimed this morning that a buy-out from Varney’s investors would lead to Charlton leaving their SE7 base.
However, former Addicks chief executive Varney says this is “completely untrue” and has urged Meire to publish a retraction in the next 48 hours.
He told News Shopper: “It is totally untrue and completely fabricated.
“I have been in dialogue with Roland Duchatelet directly.
“My position is that they should issue a retraction because it is totally untrue. I am quite happy to publish the evidence of the proposal to prove that.
“I am giving them 48 hours to publish a retraction.”

Ok.
Even if it was 100% true (which it isn't) but even if what she said was completely accurate and Varney had a secret plan that the new investors would move the club away from the valley.
Roland/Katrien...I still wouldn't care. If it meant that you, KM and RM left and we got Varney in. I'd be sad about leaving the valley but I'd leave tomorrow.

I am not a legal expert but I am not sure you are correct. If KM has not met the buyer she is accusing PV of saying something he is denying. Whom he was speaking on behalf of is irrelevant, its what came out of his mouth, or more to the point what didn't.carly burn said:

Meire, speaking at the press conference to unveil Russell Slade as their new manager, was asked if this was one final attempt by the Belgian tycoon to make the club a success before calling it quits and selling up.
But she replied: “As we said in the past the club is not for sale".
And that should have been that.
