    Remember him being at Charlton Lido with Peter Reeves and there respective other halves having a laugh and a joke with other people there. A real character a real nice guy. Sadly missed.

    Thats so sad to hear. I named my boy after his surname....Harry wasnt popular back then so I settled for Gregory. My first Charlton Hero. RIP......really has taken the wind out of my sails.

    Very sorry to hear this. Was in the team when I was first taken to the Valley as a six year old. Could be brilliant on his day. Can still remember the crowd chanting his name to this day. Another of my childhood favourites gone.
    RIP Harry, reunited with Bobby Curtis, John Keirs, Graham Moore and Ray Tracey.

    As already mentioned on here, one of the stalwarts of that 68/69 team. One of my memories of was of him punching a cross into the goal and looking surprised and delighted when the ref gave a goal.

    Never met him or saw him play but from what people have told me, he was a top, top man. A true gentleman.

    A real shock .. you tend to think that your early heroes are immortal .. terrific, brave player .. along with Alan Campbell and Graham Moore he constituted one of the best CAFC midfields that I've had the pleasure to watch and enjoy .. RIP Curly Harry

    He played in the first game I saw in 1969, and used to be in Crossbars before the games in more recent times. I heard towards the end of last season that he was ill, very sad to hear he's gone.

    Well that's saddened me greatly, loved watching him play and was also a hero of mine, RIP sir, and thank you for all you did as a player for the Addicks, gone but never forgotten.

    Like others who have posted here, I first saw Charlton when Harry was in the team of 68/69. It's sad to think of those players who almost brought success to The Valley passing on.

    Looking at his stats here (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Charlton_Athletic_F.C._players), it's interesting to see he has almost the same goals and games as Kim Grant. Yes, I know times have changed and goals are harder to come by than in the '60s but that's still an impressive strike rate from a midfielder.

    Was part of the team I watched when I use to go with my late Dad. I do remember Harry thumping a fan who was giving him serious grief( not on the pitch).
    I also remember coming back from the usual cup fiasco/defeat this time at Hull 3 nil . Harry and Charlie Wright had a long chat with me as a star struck kid his dad

    So sad to hear this news. Harry was one of the Charlton 'legends' hosting in the hospitality suites. We got to know him quite well when he was a host in the Keith Peacock Suite.

    He was a real gentleman and always immaculately turned out. We really missed him during the latter part of the season when he became too ill to continue working.

    We last saw him when he and all his family had a meal in the Keith Peacock Suite. He will be very greatly missed and was a wonderful ambassador for the club.

    Rest in peace Harry and sincere condolences to his family.
