    One of many decent pubs in Nottingham, like the bits mined into the sandstone. The Saturday night of everyone wandering from pub to pub for a single drink seems unique.

    Hadn't thought about it before, but you're right, I've not encountered that anywhere but in Nottingham. Brings back memories of a pint of mixed in the Newshouse, and also drinking in the Salutation and Navigation. When i first went to Nottingham, the pubs closed at 10:30 so that would be the time to pile in the cars and get back over the border to West Bridgford for an extra half-hour of drinking time.
