I'm looking forward to it AFKA - One of the benefits of living here is the mix of ethnicity - Most of the top nations in the championship will have a contingent here in Van and thus you can pop along to a bar/coffee shop (for the Italians) and join in the revelry. As you say we will be able to enjoy this competition without feeling negative about how badly England are playing (definitely if McClown had been still there) and just enjoy the spectacle and hopefully the good football being played.

Germany, closely followed by Czech Republic. I really do have to cut down on my drinking.

Ironically my real team, Sweden, came in last.

Looks like its Portugal for me, though Germany and Czech Rep were close.

I've got to boo the Turks. Won't be difficult...

I'm supporting Sweden on that quiz but in reality I'll probably be cheering on the Dutch...

I'm looking forward to it too. Got the Panini sticker album - for Henry Jnr of course.

Its the Wakdorf boys for me too. I found this article on ESPN - I can only assume an English bloke had written it and got away with it as it swooshed over (sic) his American editor.

    Young Boys Wankdorf erection relief:

    I'm with you AFKA.

I don't see why England's non-involvement should change much. We may normally be in it on paper but the team never really ever turns up anyway. At least this way we should save any disappointment.

I'm going to liven things up a bit by giving myself a small betting budget of 30 euros and see if I can make a profit.

I'll watch every team once first of all and then put small amounts on the teams I fancy.

I have come up as Germany, but I'll be supporting Spain.

The Tournament will probably be OK to watch but with no England it's a bit like the Premiership with us not in it, I could not give a t*ss about it.

Apparently I should follow France, neck and neck with Italy and then Holland close behind.

It will be Holland in reality.

    Deutschland, Deutschland uber alles

Ich bin ein Berliner and all that.

At least I might win a penalty shoot out now......
  • Austria- only because everybody has already written off their chances, and the Ernst Happel is supposed to be cauldron of noise when they either play at home or when the Rapid Wien vs Austria Wien derby comes to town.

I'm looking forward to it - a few weeks of decent football on the box. The nay-sayers will get drawn in.

I'm going to be in Munich around the semi-finals, so it'll be an experience if Germany do well...

It reckons I shoud be supporting Switzerland, faiing to take my Italian nationaiity into account. I think to count as Swiss I'd have to have made a substantial deposit of 1940s appropriated gold, which I have not. Stupid computers.
  • I'm looking forward to it, but then I like watching Football in general, to be honest even I'm watching the two most nondescript sides in the world within five minutes I'm rooting for one side and hating the other. Have also got to admit that I enjoy penalty shot outs, unless Charlton or England are involved of course....................
