Never been that keen on Chris, ever since he sold the 386 tickets put aside for Sevenoaks Addicks for the play off finals.
386 tickets that people had paid me £28 in advance, gone without a thought of the work involved in arranging it from my living room. Six coaches booked from my own pocket but the tickets sold on by Chris Parkes. I wasn't a happy bunny.

I seem to recall a quote from one player (might have been Motta), that he didn't even know what the protests were about so he definitely wasn't too bothered.

I don't know Sue Parkes and have no way of knowing whether she is being honest or not. I am prepared to believe that she is saying what she thinks and I am also prepared to believe that CARD/we/many of us have mis-interpreted some of things we have heard. However, we know there has been a lot of crap even if some of our interpretations are wrong. She is right in one thing. We all to tend to see what we want to.
The biggest concern for me, though, is the siege mentality that comes over. Heaven forbid, but if I was part of the group that are under siege, I might be saying or thinking some of the same things even though I'd like to hope not. But, that mentality is not good for the club. Those supporting the regime know things aren't good obviously, but they now have no way of knowing where to go from here.
Once you have lost, you can't win and that is the position the regime is in. Sadly, it seems to me, at least, they still think they can turn it round by whatever methods. Sue Parkes seems to support that or dismisses it as RD can do what he likes. I agree that strikes often misfire and harm the wrong people, but CAFC fans are a passionate group and have few ways of changing things - so called 'strikes' or non-attendance are more or less all that is available. Letters, meetings and other initiatives have simply not worked.
Maybe whether we are called 'fans' or 'customers' shouldn't wind us up so much, but it truly manages to capture the current disconnect and is almost the best anti-marketing the club do.1 -

It was a correspondence, yes, but from what was posted, there was nothing to say it was meant to be private. I agree with this and will add that we are generally a very reasonable bunch of fans and we WANTED and OFFERED to help and work with the owner and CEO from the outset. We have tried and tried to do so, using all sorts of channels. After the Feb 2015 Woolwich Freezer meeting organised by the Trust, the mandate from fans was still to seek dialogue. And we did so. Maybe if they had listened at any point between RD taking over and then, we would not find ourselves in this predicament. But no, they strung us along, over-reacted (eg KM calling out the Trust for organising the "anti-club" Woolwich meeting), then held that ludicrous fans' meeting (every manager the right decision/ only 2% etc). KM promised to set up Target 20k in one way then it changed into something completely different with no consultation. She promised a "Strategy Group" which has never materialised. In the meantime they appointed Fraeye and KM's Dublin comments came to light. And then the protests really started.
Given that many of us had significant reservations from the early days after the takeover, I think we have been extremely reasonable and patient. No-one wanted to protest. No-one wanted to get relegated. We have been driven to it.
But don't let facts get in the way of Sue Parkes' La La land. She might as well go and join Katrien in Wonderland...

Bloody hell. I literally cant keep up with all this crap, its getting ridiculous.
This whole, he who owns the club and can do what he likes. Yes, that is true to some extent. However, they are running a business (club) where they field players every week with the hope that fans (customers) like what they see and pay to come. Its simple as that. Whatever happened to "The customer is always right"?
To have a perverse view that he who owns the club can do as he likes does not make sense. The fans like it or hate it are the life blood of football. That is the entire reason it was founded as a game, a bunch of lads that enjoyed playing football and people enjoyed watching.
Its simple:
Play football that people like and win = more fans (customers)
More fans = money
More money = players
Players = playing football people like
and so on and so on....
They harp on about how its a business and they are running it the correct way and without them we would not exist. How many teams in the top three leagues of the English game have gone under and are no longer around today?
They have basically taken over a pub that was on its last legs of cash flow, fired all of the long standing members of staff. Gone against the grain and done away with all the popular beers and pissed off the locals. Then have the audacity to say "Its our pub, we decide". Well my Belgium publican friends, without anyone in the pub you will go under!
To accuse the fans protest of being a reason why we got relegated is mind boggling. Its like a restaurant accusing the diners of the reason they got food poisoning or a cinema accusing the film goers of the reason the film is poor (thanks for the example KM).
To be a Charlton fan right now = Different day, some other weird sh1t happening!
When and where will it all end....

I'm sure the 10 hours is an exaggeration for dramatic (or comic) effect. What we do know for certain is that KM is working far fewer hours than Chris Parkes and far fewer hours than PV did when he held the role.
Put it this way, many years ago I worked on the turnstiles. When I did I would be arriving 30-60 minutes before KM now arrives at games, and I'm pretty sure there's a lot more things she should be doing on a match day than my simple task of taking and counting ticket stubs.1 -
I know her personally, good family friend; but she does need to remember that we would not have a Club if it wasn't for some form of protest that we as fans held. That is a fact. The telling thing is that Sue's views aren't shared by people sitting around her in the directors' box, hence the public rows she has had with former directors. A couple of weeks ago I went to see another former director who I won't name but is universally respected. He also supports the protests.
Her views aren't shared by the long-term sponsors who have quit. They aren't shared by staff who have left the club and they aren't shared by many of the staff working there now. They aren't shared by the hierarchy of the community trust and they aren't shared by any of the people who have been there and done it as far as running the club is concerned, which Sue never has.
They are only shared by the small group of people clustered around Meire whose positions are dependent on the regime continuing. So the best thing to do with her is to ignore her.34 -
