When asked about CEO Meire, the manager said: “She couldn’t work any harder really. Her dialogue and communication is first-class.

“Nobody wants to get these key signings over the line more than Katrien.”

His gonna look a massive tit when he realises they won't sign the players he wants. Unless they are freebies or out of contract injury prone players.

I think we will sign the players he wants, even spending money, but expect Tex, Fox, Lookman and Bauer to go. Income from fees will far outweigh expenditure, wage budget will be slashed. Whether the squad we are left with will be good enough for promotion only time will tell.

Will be disappointed if fox, Bauer and Lookman leave in this window.

Could easily understand Bauer leaving. Disappointing loss as although he had a couple of mistakes and was injured last year, he looked like a decent championship player from arrival and would only be getting better.

Lookman is exciting to watch and if we can keep him, great. If someone offers over £4m (just made that up wavered between 2 and 6) then I can see we would clearly sell him. Probably closer to £2m and at that I think we should keep him for a season if we can.

Morgan fox has had a torrid time some games and has had been abused in game and on the forum, I'm a fan of his though and think he is developing into a decent championship level player, still young, still learning. Crucially as well he always puts a shift in and wants to be Charlton. Losing Morgan would be the worst loss of the three for me. You won't get paid for the heart you've lost in selling a lad who plays for the team he and his dad supports. If he moves, I hope it's a really good move for him but I hope he stays I really do.

If I landed a job at nasa as a rocket designer or mcclaren as a formula one engineer I would work my bollocks off and want to succeed more than anyone else.

In fact I would be the hardest working keenest sod that ever did those jobs.

I would have to be as I would be entirely clueless and make mistake after mistake and monumental fuck up after monumental fuck up on pretty much a daily basis until I inadvertently dragged those organisations to the ground.

Plucky attitude and hard work does not qualify you for success. Give me a qualified and component ceo who makes it look effortless over this wally any day.

Honesty is not always the best policy when speaking about your boss. Or so I was told before I voluntarily left the corporate world.

So let me get this right, we are now a L1 club with an English manager and a few journeymen players and a few youth players. It took RD and KM 3 years to get here? #FFS

She's his boss. He wants the job. What else could he/would he say.
He's not a fan and has no idea of what we have had to endure.
Non post really, if SCP had said that I'd have had a conniption but not him. Not yet anyway.

Another post nitpicking for the sake of it. No offence meant to WSS, who is a good guy.

It's a very good interview where Slade confirms that he is getting in the players he wants & rejecting players put forward that he doesn't want. Slade has also jettisoned from the 1st team squad about 5 Academy players that aren't yet ready, which is what we all want.

So what if a question is put to him about Meire and he says she's working hard & communicating with him ?

What would any of us say about our boss if a journalist was interviewing us ?

I'm 100% behind Slade & he's doing everything right at the moment.

If you've read that and you still think he's a yes man, then you're pretty clueless I'm afraid.

Just disappointed that he said something positive about her. In hindsight when asked a direct question though he can't really say what he may (or may not) really think.

    Clickbait discussion for me.

So. Let me understand this...the players have to buy into the Club, its' history and its' traditions...but the CEO doesn't!

    Unique!!

“The football club can’t forget its history – that’s why these changes are important,” Slade added.

It's good that Slade recognises this, but frankly I would have expected him to. It's Meire that needs to be saying these things though.
  • FFS stop the whingeing on here. We had our protests and we got changes now get behind the team. Duchebag has said he is not selling. Liar Liar will always be here so long as Duchebag owns the club. So get used to it.
  • Don't think you realise it will take more than a few signings & platitudes to stop the protests.

At least not since I threatened to resign and spill the beans if she didn't get her arse in gear.
