Athletic we stand, divided we fall
We have lost 2 games, failed to score in both. We need to turn it around on Saturday and need our own fans to be fully behind the team and management. There was full backing to Slade's appointment in the summer and we need to maintain this and support him with a squad clearly lacking depth. Is this the fault of RD and KM? Do we know? There is rumour and second guessing but we support through the bad times. Been there, done that in the 80's.
It is all too easy to criticise.

Well, your last statement is correct. With this lot, it's never been easier to criticise.cafc_steve said:Negative, pessimistic, etc. Discussion and argument about whether to boycott games, get "free" tickets, demonstrate outside the stadium.

This isn't Charlton Athletic any more. I don't know what it is but I don't want to be involved in any shape or form at the moment.
Get out of our club you useless knobbers.25 -
Really? I don't think tonight is the right time to be asking your fellow CAFC supporters to one again, back the team and the latest in a string of utterly incompetent managers!
And just for the record, I didn't back Slade's appointment one bit. Always thought he was shit and still do. Still, he saw the club were desperate and took his chance to bag himself a regular pay cheque to do a job no other intelligent, proven manager wanted.
Pay peanuts.......13 -

Well though I wasn't there, the support at the Bury game was meant to have been amazing. I was at tonight's game, and whilst it wasn't the most vocal support I've heard, it certainly wasn't overly negative either (until the final whistle that is and there was a chorus of boos and a few rounds of 'we want Roland out').cafc_steve said:Negative, pessimistic, etc. Discussion and argument about whether to boycott games, get "free" tickets, demonstrate outside the stadium.

Supporting the team only gets you so far. It doesn't help Roly to release the purse strings, it doesn't help Meire to be less of a moron, and whilst it might help the team to find a bit extra, it just as well might not, as with the Bury game and countless other games we've lost despite having amazing support.14 -
It was indeed too easy for Roger Johnson to criticise the fans, and too easy for Slade to get arsey with a journalist.1

I am not disputing the support at the 2 away games which has been magnificent, save the moronic few. It is Saturday at The Valley where our support will be judged. I have been informed only 8000 home area seats were bought by end of play on Monday. Our fan base is bigger than that, so let's show that.2

It doesn't matter if we had 100,000 of your finest Charlton fans singing chanting and cheering for us , we are a pathetic shit wank cunt bitch gravy club atm thanks to these pathetic owners and me shouting myself hoarse ,as i do most games, will not help our chuff footballers become better45

Why on Earth should we show that? This stinking regime has done nothing for us. They've taken over our club and are busy driving it to oblivion. The football is shit, the atmosphere is toxic, there are precious few reasons to go. If any Charlton fan is keen on attending on Saturday, then good luck to them. But most of us are voting with our feet. We hate this regime - let's show that instead.cafc_steve said:I am not disputing the support at the 2 away games which has been magnificent, save the moronic few. But imagine you are loyal to your local curry house, and every time you order your favourite takeaway, the name has changed. And every time your order arrives, its wrong, cold and a bit shit. And when you complain time and again about your shit, cold curry, the owner give you another piss poor excuse which you know is basically a lie, before insulting you and making you feel like your custom wasn't wanted in the first place because you're nothing more than an annoying twat.
Some may think it's 'weird' but I think you'll find in the end, most people will choose not to return to that curry house and will find a new, better one to order from in the future whilst watching your old one slowly cease to trade, 'cause all the locals have cottoned on.11 -
And now the team is, as you say, so poor we need to support them. There are decent players who need confidence instilled. Ajose and Novak will score goals. Johnson will soon be not required. We will bolster midfield by the weekend.
Divided ..... We will fall5 -

WE are supposed to give THEM confidence are we?
No.
THEY are supposed to give US goals and points...lots of them.
They can source their confidence elsewhere, not continue to parasite off us for it.8 -

I don't know if you've noticed, but we're falling through the league like a stone anyway. It's nothing to to with the fans it is the way the club is being wrecked by its interim owners. The only thing that will halt the decline is getting rid of those that create it. So bollux to this happy-clappy support the players in nappies approach. It may be well meaning (though I suspect you're probably on a wind up), but it is tosh. Forget supporting the team and support the club by opposing the regime.cafc_steve said:And now the team is, as you say, so poor we need to support them. Unfortunately they don't listen. So, that realised, support the team as always done. Good players will come good.
And for those who are looking elsewhere for their "curry", this is located in the south of Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

The Spice Inn in Romford Road is a bloody good curry house.1

I need to find a new curry house. There's one down in Hayes that delivers to Bromley, but they're bloody slow.
For Chinese you can't beat a bit of Ho Luk though, I shit you not - they genuinely deliver within about 15 minutes.. Even if you're ordering a meal for 4 people. Top quality nosh too.0 -

I will always support the team but owner who's killing the club NO! ! And Slades on thin ice too!!2

Unsurprisingly the Belgian's have got us relegated, made atrocious financial decisions and deserve complete hatred...
The ONLY saviour of this club is them leaving...
Until then we hate on EVERYTHING Charlton, I even dislike the new players simply because any sort of research would suggest coming to Charlton is a bad move...
Ive just had it, Im fed up to the back teeth and only want the Belgians to leave, Id take league 2, id take anything at this point...
