Don't disagree with your points and, unhelpfully, I do not have a solution. I am possibly clouded by looking at the gloating reaction on SE7 Valiants to the opening game. Quite how it pans out if we start to struggle, or even accept mid-table mediocrity, is another matter.PeterGage said:

The problem with a boycott is that aside from lower attendances it doesn't do anything tangible. This site is awash with CARD postings and seemingly few anti-card write ups. However, CARD members and I suggest CARD supporters are in a minority, albeit a very vociferous one
Minority at games this season though? Yes, because majority of protestors are boycotting.
However, I cannot physically hand over my hard earned to KM.
I would personally not be able to look at myself in the mirror.
I do not expect people to have the same opinion but that is what I believe.
1. "Aside from lower attendances", to the anticipated future levels is surely due to a combination of relegation and the of CARD-inspired action is indeed tangible. Not sure people outside of the Charlton owners/managers would accept that lower attendances "have fallen because of relegation".
2. "The muted dissent" will clearly be so in numbers due to the fall off in attendances, many of whom (I would suggest) are CARD supporters. Given the excellent record of CARD last season, I have faith in their ability to be further creative this season and lessen the impact of reduced protesters, but recognising it will be a big problem to reach the heights of last season.
Enjoy your day
I do think that the lower attendances will pass people by. Most would expect a fall-off with relegation even in a normal season at a normal club. Plus if Meire keeps massaging the figures. we'll probably be posting crowds in excess of the capacity!0 -

I may have been the person you saw at the shop entrance on Saturday (albeit that I am not short and fat) and all I said to you was "don't buy one of theirs, buy one of ours" highlighting the supporters shirt offering. At no point did I step in your way or stop you entering the store, I was polite and had used the same approach all afternoon without any form of confrontation, indeed most people were very pleasant. You on the other hand were very aggressive and abusive towards me telling me to "Fuck off" among other comments that neither I or others with me were able to understand. If as you suggest the police were to have become involved it would have been you who they would have spoken to about your abusive language and aggressive attitude. We all have a right to protest and picket etc as long as it is done within the law which all of us were. If you were not the person I refer to all well and good but as usual there are two sides to every story. I have been a supporter for just over 50 years and saddens me that because of this regime lots of what should be positive help and assistance (so much imagination and skill and more professionalism than Ms Meire and her cohorts have shown) for the club is now being lost. I will continue to "support the team but not the regime" until Mr Duchatelet comes to his senses and admits that his "Network" idea does not work and he sells up.East_Stand_Loopy said:

Re the shop. on SE7 Valiant:-
Malcolm Triggs "Several of them tried to prevent me going to the shop on Saturday (I wasn't going to, but I thought I would once I saw the picket). I resisted the temptation to debate the issues as it would have been unfair to pick on foot soldiers while the generals were hiding away."7 -
Not really. I used to be a supporter, I supported the club financially by buying a season ticket and club merchandise. I supported the team by attending matches and singing and chanting.AddicksAddict said:

I no longer do those things so I do not consider myself to be a supporter, I am not even really a "fan" at the moment, as I dislike almost everything that is going on off the pitch and a good deal that goes on on the pitch.

Utter bollocks from Mr Trigg.
The boy in the picture is my son, he might be a big lump but he's only 13. He wanted to do the protest so i stood to one side and watched and listened just in case anyone gave him some lip. I can honestly say i heard or saw nothing untoward at all.6 -
And, worth noting that several people have joined the CARD organising team since it was formed, including two over the summer. Others have stepped back but remain volunteers/supporters. Fresh people (with fresh ideas) are welcomed but we look for specific skills and personal qualities that will add value to the team. One of the personal qualities is Resilience; because it is bloody hard work and the criticism (not doing enough, doing too much, doing more than RD/KM to destroy the club etc etc) can be hard to take.Airman Brown said:

I'm quite happy for the so called "elected few" to get first dibs on free tickets. They are the people organising the whole thing why shouldn't they get a match ticket ? I went to the ground on saturday to pick up a copy of the voice & did ask Airman if there were any freebies left but they had all gone so I went home. Do you think that he should have given me his ticket ?clb74 said:

3. I don't know how many tickets were redistributed. I guess one of the team could go through all the emails and tot it up, then try to find out how many were brought on the day that we didn't get an email about, but I don't see why they should - we've all got other things in our lives too.15 -

I have every right to be bloody angry. I have been accused of being abusive, aggressive, and the police getting involved.
I AM TOTALLY INNOCENT!
I was not there, nor did I speak to anybody.

I am the one who has done nothing wrong, and I'm sure if I wanted to, I could make a case for this being libel.

I would just like to say to any protesters or CARD members.Granpa said:I have several times confirmed my support for legitimate protest, but on Saturday upon try to enter the Club Shop we were told by an individual stationed by the entrance door not to spend any money. I object very strongly to his approach, he could easily have caused the Police to become involved, which should not be your aim. As it happens we were there just to look, but as I understand Roland does not get any retail profit from the shop, only rent from the franchisee which am sure he has already pocketed. Please be aware that I believe that people like this individual ( short, fat, dressed in dark clothing ) is likely to make your cause more difficult.
Please don't try to tell me how, or what, to spend my money on. You will be given a right flea in your ear...
Or does "Free speech" only go one way?
You said you would give someone a right flea in their ear. Based on that, another poster wondered whether you were the person who abused them, quite reasonably.
Fairly straightforward really.2 -
Granpa, you really are a jobsworth. I was standing next to the guy in question (short, fat and in dark clothing as you described) and he was more saying in jest there were better places to spend your money. He didn't threaten anyone, wasn't rude and wasn't abusive. Talk about make a mountain out of a molehill. There was no chance of the police becoming involved because of him - or any other individual protesting for that matter. Get a life9
