Going up early Saturday, staying over with a friend in Walsall so I'll be sampling the delights of West Midlands nightlife.

Is there a particular pub for before the game?
  • Me and my 10 year old son will be there, family ticket £21 even to watch us that's great value. Don't know why but have a good feeling about this one, never learn do we!

Bear in mind there are the t20 finals going on at Edgbaston so most pubs likely to be especially busy around New St (also Brum vs Wolves)

thats a thing im finding in league 1 when looking up various away games, serious lack of a local away supporters pub.
  • the pubs round Birmingham New St are great on Saturdays mornings/early afternoons i reckon - so many clubs round that area (Birmingham, Villa, Wolves, Coventry, WBA etc...) that you get fans from all around the country making a base there. really good atmosphere last time I went up (for B'ham last year)
  • (though I guess it depends what away teams are up in the area!)

I have done a bit of a school boy and have our train's out of BNS 11:08 getting to BS for 11:50. May just have to suffer that extra on the day as don't want to be walking around Walsall for 3 hours.

yeah it was brilliant a few years back when palace played wba away and we had brum away we won 1-0 and they lost 2-0, got a feeling something was up with the trains and it took us about 3 hours back to london.

Yep, was about an hour from the ground when it happened.

The Saddlers Club at the Walsall stadium is surprisingly very good. Quite big and does good food too.

That was a nightmare, see the train pull in and thought sod that went and got on a virgin train instead with a crate of beers, got to about 10 minutes from Euston when got stopped for a ticket and had to pay £50 quid but worth it.
