    I thought he looked good.

Rufus (son) says he was quite good which is praise indeed.

Liege aren't legally owned by RD but some links remain. I think RD has a varient idea on his network that involves continued influence at former fully owned clubs.

Having grown up in Coventry, my worst fear here isn't going down to League 1, a drop which looks difficult to avoid, it's the idea RD could own the Valley but not the club.

recipe for total fucking disaster and should be prevented by law.

Will be writing to Pennycook on the subject

    We won't go down.

£100 to the Upbeats if we do. I have no doubt one of my many stalkers will remember come May.
We haven't won in god knows how long. To reach an average of 50 points, we need to win...say...10 of our remaining 18 games.

    To get to 50 points:

    10 wins, 8 losses or
    9 wins, 2 draws, 7 losses or
    8 wins, 5 draws, 5 losses or
    7 wins, 8 draws, 3 losses or
    6 wins, 11 draws, 1 loss

Don't think we'll need 50 pts to stay up.

Bristol City in 22nd have 24 pts from 28 games and 4 pts off averaging a point a game.

If they average a point a game from here they will finish on 42 pts. I'd say a total of 45 or 46 looks a more realistic target and that's very achievable if we can beat the teams around us too.
  • I think Bristol City will go down now because of the strange sacking of Cotterill... Bolton will probably join them because of their off the pitch issues, Rotherham I think will get out of trouble with the last spot being between Charlton and MK Dons

I wouldn't rule out Fulham - 1 win in 10 - or Blackburn - who as we saw on Saturday really aren't that good - either. A lot depends on the transfer business in and out for all the bottom teams

I can see why you think we will not go down. Won four League games all season, haven't won since the Birmingham game in November. Largest negative goal difference in League. I will give 100 pounds to the upbeats if we stay up.

At present wouldnt include either of those two... Blackburn have Jordan Rhodes to get them goals whilst Fulham have Ross McCormack, of course both players are being linked with moves so if they go they could be in trouble.

Have to admit that today is the first time I've had a proper look at the table and am shocked at how close those two sides are to the drop, Fulham especially as they've also got a Transfer Embargo
  • Good, solid debut.

Not in your Diarra mould of CH, his traits gained from playing at CM, of taking the ball down and distributing, but he was no nonsense.

I have a feeling there will be a few times when he will hit row z/hoof upfield when he has time, but I just don't think that's his style.

Blackburn have only scored 24 this season, just 2 more than us! They look a very turgid side, clearly Graham was brought in to try and replicate the job Gestede did with Rhodes last season, but they lack creativity

Fulham have a goal difference 27 better than us, yet have only won 2 more games. They've only won once in 14 games.

Both could easily be caught by the teams below them

Boro supposedly sniffing around McCormack as well, he'd be a huge loss to Fulham if he leaves but could give them some serious money to reinvest in the squad.

Anyone know what's happened down there to cause them to struggle so much?

Not much time to invest this window plus arn't Fulham on an enbargo

No incentive for them to sell McCormack, as they wouldn't be able to reinvest the money in purchases.

They'd be stuffed if they got an offer and he insisted on going

    Well done M. Duchatelet.

Your innovative strategy of letting the coach pick his own players pays off.

If only other owners could see his genius.

Jorge didn't mess about or try to be fancy, just got it clear. Physically strong too.

Only one game but so far so good

He looked like someone who has experience of playing at a decent level. Wasn't afraid to get stuck in or shout at his colleagues.

Whose idea was it to play Bergdych though?!
Bergdich had a great first half, tailed off a bit in the 2nd, how many games has he had ? I think he's a decent footballer & next season (if they haven't moved him on) when he's probably more settled I think he 'll look a lot better than the 2 or 3 games he played earlier this season.

Network scum none the less though.

You may have missed it, but Standard are no longer in the network.

Or three clubs go in to administration and we only need forty points.

One of the Belgian newspaper websites had a story on it over the weekend where a Head Coach/Manager from another team says he believes it may not be so clear cut.

Duchatelet "left", and a person who was his crony is now in charge (but a person of limited resources), and SL are buying lots of players.

It's probably just sour grapes, but I do love a conspiracy theory, me....

All gone a bit quiet on him. Is he training? Close to some matches? Can see him being loaned out.

Who? Oh errr umm, no slight injury to him but he's fine...
  • He wants out and we want him out. Wages are putting off clubs no doubt. I'm sure he will go on loan to St. T ? With Charlton picking up the lions share of wages. Another bad piece of business by the regime.

You could be right. I agree no one will pay a transfer fee that we want or he'd have been long gone.

Also, no on will take him on loan, as his wages are too high.

We've possibly got an offer to take him on loan, with us paying a % of the wages, which we may take up on the last day of the window, if we don't get a better offer.

Alternatively, he'll stay with us, because we don't get any acceptable offer.

Possibly, similar with Ba. I'm sure Slade wants rid of the players recommended by the Belgians, that have not proved a success, ie not Kashi & Diarra.

Tex was only a bad piece of Business because we got relegated, he was signed to try and keep us up and was never going to manage that on his own.

Along with Buyens and Bulot he's the best Network signing we've made in my opinion, a great Defender!!
Well he wasn't strictly a network signing, more a player that Riga knew could do a job who played for a former network club!

The problem with Tex, was that to attract him to us we had to make him an offer he couldn't refuse, and nobody else seems to want to pay him the same (I guess)

another example of our great contract negotiations. they never seem to have a contingency plan. put in the contract a chance of a fall in wages if club drop a division and if your not happy with that you'll be put on a transfer list where we will accept anything over a certain amount, to cut our loses. if not sold, please respect the contract, be a professional and make sure Roger Johnson doesn't get anywhere near the team in front of you.
