Ademola Lookman - Stay or Go?

I think he is being used just about perfectly at the minute. Too much pressure and expectation on him last year in a sinking side.
30 mins against tiring players at this level should give him a few goals, increase confidence and still get him ready for the clogged of league 1 should he be needed to start
We all moan that KAG, Kennedy and RCC were used too much too soon9 -

Think Slade's mindful of
burnoutLookman being sold this week. Great option on the bench to scare the life out of knackered div 3 defences.0 -
First goal in 2016 wasnt it for him today?
One goal against Brighton / two against Bolton last season all came before Christmas0 -
Hoping he stays . . but if the right offer comes in we all know what the result will be!1

Quotes in here don't fill me with confidence. I think his head has been turned...

He simply has to stay.2

Quite telling. Maybe an agent in his ear.0 -
We desperately need to keep him - i.e. hope that a decent offer doesn't come in before 11am on Wednesday. Apart from crushing morale generally, if Lookman goes, I fear we'll become one-dimensional and end up relying almost totally upon Holmes. Opposition League 1 managers will simply tell their players to stop Ricky Holmes by fair or foul and he'll take a lot of punishment (reminiscent of Lee Bowyer against Palace at the Valley in 96, when 5 or 6 of their players got booked for fouls on him).
As to Lookman's use thus far, I am prepared to trust Russell Slade's judgment on this, especially as he has told us that Ade only had 4 days off just before the start of the season. He also sees the player day in, day out.
As we're now out of meaningful action for a fortnight, I think Lookman needs to whisked off forthwith for another week's holiday - maybe to a Tibetan monastery or somewhere else with no mobile reception.5 -
Thought Slade had the final word on transfers?SELR_addicks said:

He was allowed a free attacking role when he finally came on, whereas as Jacko went off so soon, we needed someone more solid and defensiveateamofcorygibbs said:Wasn't at the game, but thought he could have come on when jackson went off...
Personally I wonder if he should play instead of Ajose, as that's his ultimate position, a striker. He's not a winger2 -
I could understand why Slade brough Bauer on as we were getting bullied by a physical Bolton side.ateamofcorygibbs said:Wasn't at the game, but thought he could have come on when jackson went off...

If/when he moves to the Prem I see him playing out wide on the left. With a lot of teams playing one up front he's probably not going to be used as a lone striker.killerandflash said:

I would love him to stay...but I fear he will go, but I hope on a sale & loan agreement.0

When he scored, first thing on my mind was, please don't let any PL scouts be here today. An amazing talent, and only at the age of 18, is too good for this level. Hopefully we can keep him till at least January, or longer. He seems a grounded boy from what I've heard, so hopefully the glitz and glamour of certain PL teams, won't turn his head.0

Had he not then the conspiracy theorists would have gone mental0 -
He must stay, he's only going to become better, a real talent. Could be worth a fortune in a couple of years.0

Too much logic there mate and we all know the regime don't play that game. Why wait for ten million tomorrow when a set of training bibs and a family bag of Quavers will do today?

He has already been sold. He will go on deadline day. apparently to arsenal. But we will see soon enough.0

Not saying you are wrong but if Arsenal have him wrapped up why would they or Charlton want to wait to conclude deal.C4FC4L1f3 said:He has already been sold. He will go on deadline day. apparently to arsenal. But we will see soon enough.
For Charlton the risk would be Ademola getting badly injured and not getting the fee and for Arsenal the possibility of the same or having the deal hijacked.
I'm mindful of the possibility that he might be subject to a late bid but I suspect what RD wants and what anyone is prepared to pay at this point are quite different.
Lookman will without doubt be worth £5 million by the end of this season and there will be clubs fighting to get him.
I think he will stay and be used sparingly to showcase him without damaging goods or reputation.

Loan back potentially? Things change in football as we all know but there is definitely some game playing happening with lookman.ShootersHillGuru said:

Doesn't address the point of why wait until last day of window IF it's already a done deal. Makes no sense to me.C4FC4L1f3 said:

It's either done and he's already an arsenal player or it's not done. We know it's not the former.
If a big £5 million bid comes in I can see it happening but my guess he's staying until at least January.

This is some of the info I got:
Thursday 4th August:
Lookman apparently a done deal but they agreed not to announce yet. Been done for over a week.
Arsenal apparently
Tex also close and harriot gone, slade going mental as he didn't know.
Friday 5th august:
Harriot gone! Told ya!
..........
I was also given the source. I have no reason to not believe it.
We speculated it was so they could get more season ticket sales. It could have all fallen through but I can't see why.
Who knows perhaps slade went fuck that he is worth more cancel the deal?
As I said we will see what happens, I feel it is important to share inside info even if it turns out to be BS.

I don't think anyone can deny that the way they are playing him is either shop window are already half out the door though.0
