Last month I decided to withdraw my support for Valley Gold and stopped my monthly payment without informing the club.
I received a letter from Sharron Sherress, enquiring about my "missing" payment, inviting me to speak to them about the situation. I rang them earlier today and spoke to Sharron. She asked me the reason for my withdrawal from the scheme as she had to report back such reasons.
I replied that I wasn't prepared to support the funding of potential future stars, just for Du-shit to sell them on at the first opportunity to line his pocket (although I suppose such transfer fees realistically just reduce, in part, the overall Charlton debt). Sharron accepted my rationale ("fair enough" she responded) and I wished her to enjoy the rest of her day.2 -

Good to see the Waltons doing so well. Mind you Bryn's original name must have been Byrony because I'm sure all the sextuplets were born girls.

Valley Gold have made a donation to the academy of £53.365 in September,i have just received this information in a letter from Matt Baker chairman. This was despite 'a few members concerns'.0

Back in June the Valley Gold Comittee decided that no payment would be made to the football club. 13th June.clive said:Valley Gold have made a donation to the academy of £53.365 in September,i have just received this information in a letter from Matt Baker chairman. This was despite 'a few members concerns'.

So another committee meeting has taken place since and over 50k has gone to the academy. Or have I got that wrong?0 -
The committee met in September where the academy requested funds for various events & equipment which are listed in the letter.0

No, that is exactly right.shirty5 said:

"Valley Gold enables fans to support the club in unearthing the talents of tomorrow".
But not, it seems, for the benefit of those who help to fund those players.
27 years is a long time to be committed to anything - especially when one realises that those players who do make the first team aren't going to be here possibly in 27 weeks let alone 27 months time.

Will any of the £53,365 go to the women's team?0

Doesn't look like it. See my comment on what it is being used for on the "How do I leave" thread.lancashire lad said:Will any of the £53,365 go to the women's team?
