TIME FOR CURBS TO RETURN

Let's be fair this club has been in freefall (aside from the brief rally under SCP) since Curbs left the club, some 10 years ago. Yes, I'm fully aware he has been out of the game for some 7 years now (aside from his advisory roles at Fulham), but I have little doubt he could resurrect this ailing club. After all he knows a good player from a bad one and is capable of setting up teams to firstly, not lose, and, secondly, to win. He is arguably Charlton's greatest manager since the mid 50s. It's a criminal waste that he remains outside of football management. When Slade goes (not IF) the board MUST make a serious approach to Curbs (and him alone) and should he accept my faith in the future of this club would be restored at a stroke.

I'm glad you brought his up, don't think it's been mentioned before.
No manager worth his salt will want to manage us.3 -
No one in their right mind would come here with this regime in charge.0
-
Anyone willing to manage Charlton under the current ownership demonstrably lacks the necessary judgement to be a manager.9
-
The manager of Charlton Athletic is irrelevant until Roland Duchatelet and Katrien Meire leave our club.9
-
And also time for Jessica Alba to declare her love for me3
-
like curbs would come back0

We are unmanageable until the Belgian Bastard sells up and goes. Simple as that.
What an utter basket case our club is.5 -
No, no and thrice no.
The unadvertised position is for somebody with limited football ability, no pedigree, no pride and no self-respect4 -

When the Varney consortium takeover the club. Curbs will be ideal. Until then not a snowball in hells chance.1

If Curbs were to come back it maybe it should be as Managing Director of Football. Relieve KM of ALL football matters and leave her to manage the non football side like corporate hospitality and selling advertising and all other aspects that she can do from a laptop at home in Belgium or whilst on holiday.1

I think the time has come to stop thinking about what we as individuals want, or what might be in the best interests of a potential new manager. We instead need to consider only one thing, the future welfare of CAFC, which is dying before our very eyes. If Curbs could get his foot back through the door, he could work from within, and with us, to reclaim our club. I'd like to see a demand for his return forming part of future demonstrations.0

Assuming he hasn't regressed as a manager over that time (a massive assumption) there is absolutely nothing to suggest he'd do well at the club with the state it is in right now. We could have one of the best manager's in the world put in charge and I would doubt it'd make much of a difference at all.DONVANVLIET said:Let's be fair this club has been in freefall (aside from the brief rally under SCP) since Curbs left the club, some 10 years ago. As things are Powell and Curbs are legends, and we're screwed until RD sells.
If either came back, we could well find ourselves a legend down and still screwed until RD sells.
I say keep the muppet managers parade going until we win and get a new owner with some ambition of success on the pitch - or as a minumum at least cares about the club, community and shows some form of connection with us (rather than 1.5% of their time/not coming to games).0 -
Not a chance!!
Look at the way Curbs took West Ham's beleaguered then owners to the cleaners after they gave him the boot?
A manager with a brain who can think for himself?
It's a big no from Roland.0
