    I have a little chuckle every time I pass Meadow View in Orpington. I'm sure it was once upon a time but the only view owners have now when they look out is Halfords, PC World and the car park!

    I live near Southpark, Reigate surrey! The local primary once wanted to change the name of the school because of the TV series of the same name! They failed too do so!

    The Horns I believe is recently refurbished. Lovely vaulted dining room. Just outside Henley on Thames. Well worth a visit.

    You're quite right, HG, I'm not quite sure where Crazies Hill stops and Cockpole Green starts.
    Idle Jr packed in there a while ago anyway, now works full time at a vets in Henley, which he enjoys much more.

    The Horns is a decent pub though, new managers have been there just over a year.

    Seeing this thread again reminded me of the final game of the season many, many years ago at Plymouth. I called the local branch of Barclays, saying I was from Head Office and asked the girl if she knew any good B&Bs as a few of us (including @guinnessaddick) were down for the weekend. She called back a few minutes later with details of a place on...

    Norton Folgate - small street near shoreditch

    Upper Bush - a very evocative place in the Medway of Kent in between Cuxton and Upoer Halling if Google can be believed. I have been to Upper Bush, although I was a bit drunk at the time and I can't say it was that memorable for either party.


    Helpfully Lower Bush is also in Kent but I've not had the pleasure.

    Bizarrely have been Lower Down In the Shopshire Hills but only remembered with a bit of prompting.

    I once had Tripe a la mod du Caen in a restaurant in, unsurprisingly, Caen.

    Also not being a northerner, I didn't know I was going to be served a bowl of soup with fatty pig intestines in it.

    Possible the most disgusting thing I've ever been served from a longish list.

    Once went to a place called Nasty. It was, so we just drove through it. :smile: ( it actually wasn't that bad tbf)
    A place that always makes me think is Ifield in Kent. I was always determined one day to paint the word "Frank" in front of it in appreciation of the old yodelling crooner from way back. ( I Remember Yoo-ooooh!)
    I really have no idea why I wanted to do that, because I never liked the song or him.
    But if you do ever drive past a sign saying "Ifield" with a "Frank" painted badly above it, then you know it is one off the bucket list for "someone". :wink:
