Daily Mail - Chaos at Charlton

Great response from CARD. Genuinely impressed.
The problem is the protests effect the regime to more or less the square root of zero, or in the case of Coventry, brings people who would not otherwise come to the Valley as protesters, so a bit of extra cash for them. Also, They are Belgian, why do they care what the British media think.
I don't want to take even the slightest bit of credit from CARD, they started this and they have done some great things.
The crux of this problem lies in Belgium... Destroy them in Belgium and we win the war.1 -

You need to look at it from Meire's eyes.
If you were her, would you prefer 6,000 compliant fans, sitting in silence and going home or,
12,000 fans protesting and giving them all sorts of headaches ?
Also, much of the extra revenue from protesting fans, will be swallowed up with security costs.
It's a no brainer. Protest, protest and protest again & they will go !20 -

I agree that protesting is not good for the regime, but the question is how bad is it, and how much extra pressure does it put on them? That's all I'm saying. The protests are all self contained in a lot of ways, it causes them all sorts of fuss in the stadium no doubt though.
As for stewarding costs, I would question that. Bar one incident where a big mouth twat caused 2 poor chaps to run on the pitch and get grabbed by stewards, what we have done thus far has, in reality, had minimal effect. In the words of a neutral close friend of mine in regards to those 2 guys that ran on the pitch, "You all got hyped about the pitch invasion and had your chance, and then you bottled it." That whole pitch invasion thing was probably the most idiotic thing that has happened in the protest's history, and has made us look weak if anything... If we are going to do things like that, we need to underplay our protest plans, not overplay them, because then we look like a bunch of cowards to those outside who take an interest.
I don't think Meire loses any sleep about us... I really don't.0 -

Fanny the reaction has been surprising actually the majority of comments anti Roland and fairly pro CARD. The odd one saying a meeting might have helped but still anti RD. The usual suspects have been very quiet. A couple of comments early on but I think they saw the weight of opinion and decided to ride out the storm in hiding...7 -
So the song for next Saturday is "you can shove your f***ing meeting up your arse" then?12

Too young to understand and support! Others too old to be of value to the club.
Yes KM has made it the club that hates its supporters.
CARD etc do not give up. JM and RD must go and Charlton get back to rebuilding the club it was.6 -

Fantastic response by CARD. Are there plans wider press release to put these great points across to the media as a whole in order to keep the pressure on the regime?.0

This should tell you that the regime do not want us protesting. So if they don't want it, then we should be protesting.
The non pitch invasion, was a one off event and had nothing to do with CARD, who certainly would not have pre announced it. How you can question that there are increased steward costs, I don't really understand.
I think Meire does lose sleep. I know Meire cries and rants, she's been seen.

Imagine the scene, yesterday afternoon at The Valley.
Daily Mail reporter to Charlton comms manager: We're running a story tomorrow about the fans' planned joint protest with Coventry and Charlton's poor start to the season. Do you have any comment?
Charlton comms manager: Let me check with the boss. We'll get back to you.
KM: Hello, Pitch. We need you to get the Daily Mail off our back.
Pitch (very expensive consultant): We need to give them something tangible. It's that CARD lot, isn't it? Why don't you send them an email, inviting them to meet with you. But wait till about 6pm before you send it - you can schedule it from Outlook if you've gone home by then. Leave the rest to us. And don't worry, Katrien, you won't actually ever have to meet with CARD. But it'll give them a headache and weaken those protest ideas.
Pitch (very expensive consultant): Can I speak to the Daily Mail reporter running the Charlton story? Yes, of course, the club has learnt from its mistakes and is working hard to engage with fans. They're meeting with all the different groups, including CARD. I'll email you a statement.
Daily Mail reporter: Cheers, thanks.
Daily Mail reporter, thinking: This is a load of Tony Keohanes. I'll publish the story I was planning anyway and just tag this on at the end.
KM, after reading CARD statement: Hello, Pitch...
I'll leave you guys to make up the rest.

It's all just a total cover up for the Stupid Mindless Tossers. We haven't done anything wrong, we've engaged with the fans, we've learnt from our mistakes, we've "started" to rebuild the team, we're the victims in this....Change the fucking record as we're all bored of listening.
You had your chance, now sling ya hook!5
