Guardiola vs. Player Agents... Guardiola wins?

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/37870823

"Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure has apologised to the club for 'misunderstandings from the past'.

City manager Pep Guardiola has said he will not pick Toure until his agent Dimitri Seluk apologises for criticising the decision to leave him out of the Champions League squad."

Comments

  • Still wont be playing though as its not the Agent who has apologised - I like Guardiola's stance as Agents truly are scumbags these days!!
  • Best thing about it is that Guardiola apparently isn't answering the agent's calls...

    Don't fuck with Pep

What Yaya Toure means is, his Birthday is coming up and wants a cake this time.

In his statement Toure said "I'd like to thank people for their support at this difficult time"..... that will be the difficult time that he has while picking up 220k a week to do sweet FA.

    Apologise? What's that?

All he needed to say was

"We've made unspecified mistakes but we've learnt from them, other than last season everything was fine, can we now move on and not talk about the past. I realise I need to communicate more so my agent will be meeting with any club who wants a chat. I''m not for sale and my career is stable"

What did the agent actually do ?

Still wont be playing though as its not the Agent who has apologised - I like Guardiola's stance as Agents truly are scumbags these days!!

I disagree, some agents are awful. Some however provide a very valuable service if they have the players best interests at heart.

A bit of a 'Gordon Brown apology' from old Yaya. What's he on about with his reference to "misunderstandings from the past". He'd earn a shred of respect if he just addressed the issue head on.

Given the power that these bloody agents wield, it's good to see Guardiola taking a tough line (not that Yaya was ever going to feature in his plans).

The club must be so loaded. Can afford to play the bloke north of 200k a week and not play him.

    Football is bat shit mental.

Toure can't play in a Pep team. He's too slow and lazy. And his attitude in general stinks. Making an example of him/ his agent was an easy win. No amount of apologising will get him back in the first team.
