still think the government need to subsidise this a lot more to reduce our reliance on overseas gas etc

also instead of building power stations why don't energy companies subsidise people to put solar systems up (provided they have the space) and buy electricity back from them

I have looked into it and the information I have is that it is far more cost effective to reduce the amount of energy you use through good insulation, light bulbs, not using standby etc. if I had enough south facing roof space I would be keener but I doubt our victorian house is really up to it.

One of the window companies doing a big pro mo re sola power at the moment. Its not that cost effective to be honest. You could heat your water though.

Wind turbines aint that effient . we need thousands and thousands to make any real differance.

even if we start to build the nuc power plants this week it will be 4 years before they come on line. Things are going to get very very very rough pre that or if we dont.

I agree its not all that cost effective at present, was suggesting the government could do a lot more subsidising this and perhaps wouldn't need to build all these nuclear plants/rely on foreign gas so much

Large scale wind power inland isn't that efficient, but offshore and domestic are more so..
