This interview confirms the man to be a narcissistic, deluded fool. How any Charlton fan can still defend him is beyond belief. I'd rather have a board comprising Gliksten, Hulyer and Fryer than this madman.2

RD - the gift that keeps on giving..!2

A-hem, Henry, i'd like to think that maybe some of the other protest groups might have had a teeny-weeny little bit of influence in this too ?? - after all, the B20 have engaged with RD twice over the last month - about 2 times more than CARD have.Henry Irving said:As ever, even when CARD (of which I'm not a member or spokesman) are taking a protest breather over Christmas the regime does their job for them.
More nonsense, insults and lies all of which just fuel the flames and keep the dissent alive.
Thanks M. Duchatelet, happy Christmas.15 -
That's possible. But I bet he doesn't get all that many Christmas cards at home.
Its going to be frustrating I would think knowing how many people so fervently want you to do one and are prepared to write some, in some instances, very poignant letters pointing out why that would be in everyone's best interest.
The cards may be not be from the majority of fans, but they are from a very diverse group.

I never thought I would say this about a club I hold so dear - but I would now accept relegation to the 2nd division if it meant this ignoramus would sell up.1

I would love to have a dance after the game. That makes everything so much more AWESOME!25

The biggest prick in football, just keep pissing your money up against the wall you moron.5

Although whatever happens we will always now have his sound bite of 'domme mensen '.stonemuse said:

Wow. It's a new era. In this one, I am stupid and an activist. Chris Powell is stupid and Thurman is quality.
But somehow I don't think this new era is going to see a rejuvenated fan base and a packed Valley.
Well, finally RD speaks his mind. Short interview due to lack of material.
And his own words completely condemn him and show just how wrong he is about everything related to Charlton Athletic. And why it is failing so dismally.
And it is always a strange feeling to be called an idiot by an idiot, eh
Merry Christmas to you too, RD.13 -
Thanks for interpreting, Weegie.
Another poster used the word correct word earlier in my opinion. 'Nasty'.
I don't think he is deluded or bumbling or unique.
I believe him to be a very unpleasant individual who, unfortunately for us, bought our club to prove to himself that he could defy logic, experience and history and create a new way of running football clubs.
The disdain he has for Powell is remarkable. That he uses words such as 'stupid' to describe a loyal fan base is unforgivable.
Let's hope and pray that he gets out of our club and lets someone with more sense and class start rebuilding it.

Surely even the stuff about STVV is a lie?
I thought their fans thought he was a prick and wanted him out as well? Yet he makes out they're a happy clappy bunch who have a party and a dance every game.4 -
If this gets off the ground it would be brilliant, i'd like to be in too.roseandcrown said:

I think that's exactly right. The next course of action should be to reinforce the message that it's more than just a few activists. Mass protest in Belgium? I'm in.stonemuse said:He really doesn't understand the wide resentment that has built against him. The longer we spend in L1 the less chance of there being a quality buyer also. Him wanting to sell is only one part of the equation.sammy391 said:
Where as I can see them opposite!CroydonAddick1 said:Can definitely foresee Duchatalet selling if we get promoted back to the Championship, purely so he can peddle to the Belgian media how deluded we all are and he was right all along.
Another year or two in league one will compound his loss of interest even further (especially considering alcorcon are doing pretty naff this season and so to are carl Zeis Jena I think?) ...
he won't want to bother anymore!
Added to the fact that another season in league one would reduce season tickets even further and potentially cause more number of protests as we've given them a chance to get Ian promoted!
Hopefully his calculations come with the answer 71!0 -

Come to think of it, is Duchatelet related to Andy Nelson?1 -

What an utter prick he is.3

Katrien and her minions genuinely believe it's Rick and a few other bitter ex-employee exerting influence over the thousands. Like some sort of cult. She has to believe that because otherwise she has to accept responsibility herself.AFKABartram said:
He may be an oddball but he is not that stupid, surely. He knows thousands have participated in every march, he knows thousands have participated in the match protests. If he is too belligerent and happy to take Meire's version, I'm sure his son, his wife, his other advisors etc would be taking an interest.stonemuse said:He really doesn't understand the wide resentment that has built against him. It suits their agenda to say it's down to a few stupid people being upset that he sacked a stupid manager.
And people keep giving them their money
The interview is the ramblings of an utter lunatic, but surely the biggest irony lies in his description of Powell as someone unable to accept help. He needs to look at poor Daisy too, who received offers of genuine help from experienced professionals, not the inept opinions of someone scouting in his bedroom.45 - Sponsored links:

Something similar to that was told to me by a local, mature but well heeled lady in the main square at Sint Truiden....Isawsummersplay said:What a nasty piece of work he is. His arrogance is typical of many who have money - they look down on good, decent people and treat them with disdain. What a scumbag.

I think exactly this! Remember waking up and hearing he had sold Standard Liege out of the blue!carly burn said:I still maintain that we will wake up one morning and he, and the rest of this shower, will be gone. Vanished.
No drawn out sales process. Literally just up and leave.0 -

Neil is it too late to add some text? When I saw the brilliant video of you handing over letters to him, I felt guilty that I hadn't contributed. But I still can if there's an opportunity.Alwaysneil said:Hmmmm, I think he probably does realise the extent of our concerns.
He has had 20-30 cards a day dropping through his letterbox fro the last two weeks posted in Belgium with the messages to Roland in them, its unlikely he will have thrown them all away without reading them.
Its clear from those that there are a very wide group of fans who have real concerns.
I think he is just blagging with this 'minority of activists' schtick0 -
I wonder what Karl Robinson thinks of Duchatelet now. Still think you can build bridges between the ownership and the stupid activists, Karl?
You'll get your chance to speak to the old fool - after all, you conceded two goals yesterday so he will call you to tell you it has to stop. And then he will pass the phone to Driesen who will tell you how to do it.24 -
Has anyone got that AWFUL video of RD dancing? I presume it must be after a game. It would be good to see that again to remind us stupids what fun we could be having after each game at The Valley.
Lose 0-2 at home to Peterborough? Who cares let's twerk round Sam Bartram's statue!
You couldn't make up RD.
And to the PR team this -just keep taking his money. There's nothing else you can do with this account14 -
The video's still there - Douchebag's interview starts at 1:08:45 (and will, no doubt, later be available to watch in the archives 'Andere Afleveringen' see right of the screen)stonemuse said:

Which, I would have thought, is enough for them to be part of the Coalition. A pity if it is not treated that way. I think everyone hugely appreciated their latest effort. And the Belgian public dont make the distinction, as I learnt while in Liege.Alwaysneil said:
