    Beer in the morning and have a couple bottles of Chateau Neuf De Pape that I ain't sharing with anyone, whilst I cook the dinner, a nice Barolo which I ain't sharing with anyone for dinner, the mother in law can have the merlot I have in the cupboard.

    Today has gone thus:
    2 large gin and tonics
    Half a bottle of Pinot Noir I brought back from Canada
    3 beers from my beer hawk Advent calendar
    Will have a couple of drinks from a bottle of Glenlivet in the cupboard.

    Bloody love Christmas.

    Day starts with Hendricks and tonic, then a very nice couple bottles of Italian Red, on to some nice Bordeaux then Port followed by a Hendricks again.

    Today though I am off to a Christmas buffet at the Sofitel so 4hrs of whatever I can shove down my throats all for 70 quid!!

    when is the appropriate time to start?

    I'm thinking in just over 20 minutes. obviously that requires a strategic plan of pacing oneself to get through the whole day but I feel I'm up to the challenge.
