Another sad loss RIP0
-
Dreadful news. My first crush and at only 60 still had so much to offer on and off screen.0

RIP. Hoped she may pull through, very sad.0

Too true.Leuth said:The deaths won't stop in 2017. We've reached the time when the boom in famous people coincides with ages where death is more likely. It's all dead slebs from here on out.
Nonetheless, RIP to an icon0 -
RIP Carrie, like mentioned a few times from others she was one of my first crushes too1

Sad to lose yet another icon.
Smart, sassy and very cool.

Very sad. A star in my favourite movie series and another of my favourite films (Blues Brothers). Absolutely beautiful back in the day and had her battles with drugs. Incredibly funny and seemingly a straight talking honest person. Up there with the loss of Bowie for me this year. RIP indeed.0

Very sad about this. I'd feared the worst the way the news was coming out.
Princess Leia convinced the 9 year old me that girls were not smelly but were actually completely excellent.2 -
To lose Princess Leia really is too much. I've had about enough of this year.

RIP.
Carrie studied briefly in London and was a couple of years after me in the same institution.
I remember as a student being impressed that she could hail a cab to go places whilst I bunked fares as much as I could get away with.
Will be sadly missed.2 -
RIP. For her got to be a big RIP not a rip - that's not right!0

RIP Carrie Fisher,
tough time for your Mother, Debbie Reynolds(84) who was a big star back in the day.0 -
"We have been given a challenging illness, and there is no other option than to meet those challenges. Think of it as an opportunity to be heroic – not “I survived living in Mosul during an attack” heroic, but an emotional survival. An opportunity to be a good example to others who might share our disorder."

From Carrie Fisher's advice column for The Guardian. I remember reading this a couple weeks ago and, as someone who suffers with a mental illness, it was a very touching notion.

She helped to chip away at the stigma of mental illness. Talked openly about being bipolar. RIP lovely lady.1

I never got into star wars but I watched her on a fairly recent Graham Norton show and quite took to her. RIP0
-
I like the stories about James Blunt and her. He said she was his LA mother and he recorded most of his albums in her toilet, which had a piano in it.0

There are reports that Debbie Reynolds has been rushed to hospital, suffering from a stroke.0

Debbie Reynolds, Carrie Fisher's mother... RIP0

Wow. Debbie Reynolds death now. A day after her daughter. RIP.0

First item on the World Service news.

Gobsmacked by Debbie Reynolds dying, too. Grief sure is a powerful emotion. If there is an afterlife, hopefully they're having a fine old time together.0
-
Just horrific for the family - literally dying of grief. In some ways, maybe a blessing that she won't have to live without her daughter. No parent should have to be at the funeral of a child and now she won't have to go through that.0

Awful for family RIP0

more unbelievable sad news...
RIP Debbie Reynolds0
