In Memoriam

Cant find another thread on this.....!

Just a heartfelt thanks to the supporters and club for doing this at the Brizzle game, my old man passed away in March (Charlton fan for over 65 years), so it was good to see his name among the other supporters during the minutes applause. I have to admit to having a tear or two in my eye as he rolled past.
And thanks to all the supporters for the applause. As a non footballing mate of mine commented, 'what a classy gesture.'

Oh yes and we won.

There are a few things that the club do get right. This being one of them.

My uncle's name was on the screen last season, he was a lifelong Charlton supporter and the sole reason that myself and my two brothers started supporting Charlton along with his two sons.
Now if you include all our kids and grandchildren there are over 20 of us supporting Charlton. (No deserters).
Truly one of the better ideas to have come from the club, long may it continue

Agreed, and I was reticent about this initially. Saturday's list seemed much smaller than in previous reasons. Maybe it was or perhaps it was played faster? It wasn't obvious this year if it included any Rovers fans?
  • I would also like to add my thanks. My dear mum passed away in March having suffered with dementia for a number of years. Like Greenie, I also had a tear or two as her name passed.

My Dad's name was on last year's list. I kept the video of it and showed some of his relatives that couldn't get to the match. Thank you to whoever posts the videos.
