Jordan Botaka away for Africa Cup of Nations

Good Luck to the lad. It's a great honour to represent your country and I hope he does well.7

I won't be watching this tournament if players of his ability are playing in it.
Hopefully, it will have the same affect it had on Bulot. He went from awful before it to being a decent player after his return.3 -
What is Bulot up to now? Will he be at the cup of nations?SouthWest_Addicks said:I won't be watching this tournament if players of his ability are playing in it.

A shame we never got to keep Bulot. With Bulot in our team last season, surely we'd have been good enough to stay up.8

I don't think he has been awful.4

Not for all the time, true. Just for large parts of it.MuttleyCAFC said:I don't think he has been awful.

Must be in the minority of rating Botaka, does look best coming off the bench to run at tired teams though.
Good luck, Jordan... but get knocked out soon so you can come back and play for us instead.3 -
Good luck to him; but just as he was starting to find his feet. Helped change the game at Southend and was decent v Brizzle4
-
changed the game off the bench a couple of times before those too.3

Botaka was definitely underplayed by Slade, often just 10 minute cameos. He can be frustrating, but also does good things and he works hard too, tracking back to help the defence1

Against Southend, without doing anything spectacular, he just lifted the tempo. He also never hid, and was always looking to be involved.
Against Bristol, maybe some are forgetting it was the blatant, and cynical, foul on him, when clean through the defence (after a very good interception) that lead to our equaliser.3 -
It also has to be hard starting games three months into a season after ten minute cameos here and there. I believe it was up at Fleetwood that he helped change the game and played the pass to Foley for the scuffed shot that Novak tapped in.
Hope the tournament helps him find some match fitness and rhythm, and he comes back to us in form.2 -
Bloody good job we've got the strength in depth to cover his absence otherwise we'd be a bit light in midfield.4
-
Bambi on ice, would only use him as a sub0
-
He does seem to like a step over.0

Don't agree. Has a spark, that few of our players have. Looks nervous when he starts though.Fortune 82nd Minute said:

Sorry, I thought that said SLEEP OVER0 -
To be honest on Monday when he broke clear and was scythed down, it was nice seeing his aggression after. He wants to achieve! Southend away, I also thought he changed the game when he came on.0

Clearly a decent player in there. Just needs coaxing out of him.3 -
Neither are sleep overs...SDAddick said:

I rate him, and he did get tripped cynically, but I think the free-kick which resulted in our first goal came from a foul on Konsa - possibly Aribo.East_Stand_Loopy said:

I can see why he divides opinion. He's a bit crazy and unpredictable, all too often he tries to dribble past 5 players, although saying that,in the last couple of games he has toned that down a fair bit.He works hard for the team though,I like him,but more useful as a super sub for me.0

Couldn't see a thread for the African Cup of Nations, Ghana v Mali kicks off at four, live on Eurosport. Anyone know why this is allowed to be broadcast during the normal Saturday afternoon blackout hours ? Different rules for international tournaments ?0

Botaka's team DR Conga losing 2-1 to Ghana with 10 minutes to go to reach the semi's. He is still on the bench so hopefully will come back without an injury1
