    To be fair the people who support the regieme, as inexplicable as that is to me, are still fans - I just don't agree with them. Then there's a group of people who aren't particularly fussed either way about the ownership, they might even be the majority, and they're fans too.

    I won't be meeting him but my message is:

    We are behind you and the team 100% and well done for the progress so far, but you understand that you are the 8th 9th or 10th guy we have been asked to get behind. Our views are meaningless to the owner - they couldn't wait to sack our favourite boss and sell our favourite striker - so you will understand why we can only see you as a temporary stand-in for some Belgian basketball statistician or similar, that is waiting for the owner to put him in charge of the team after you.
