A. Because it's worse than incompetent, it's deliberate.
B. Because the financial mess into which Charlton were plunged proved to be recoverable.
C. Because failing to deliver against a proper plan is almost always forgiveable; failing to have a plan isn't.
D. Because making decisions with the best interests of the club at heart is always preferable to the club being a small line-item on a large balance sheet.
E. Because mistakes made by owners who are fans can be forgiven; mistakes made by owners who aren't, can't.
And, if you want just to look at the Financial aspects of various decisions, ask yourself this: when has Charlton ever been in as much debt as it is now? And when has Charlton's debt increased by as much as £1m a month, as it is now?
Charlton may have had owners who made mistakes in the past. But don't let that fool you into thinking the current regime is in any way competent.25 -
