What makes Roland sack the manager?

Given Roland's well publicised views on what he thinks football is for - socialising, dancing after the game - and that what happens on the pitch is not important, it leads me to wonder what it is that determines that Roland will sack the manager. If his stated aims are being met - playing young players in the first team, selling those same young players on for big bucks, breaking even - what leads him to conclude that the manager needs to go? Is it when the manager becomes challenging, or when he asks for more players and Roland won't give him any....or when the protests become too embarassing?

    I guess he wants a certain level of results to make the club break even. They also need to buy in to his youth stuff

    Saying "no" to him ie

    Slade saying "no" to having Chris O'Loughlin in his coaching team.

    Result: Slade sacked and O'Loughlin in place before we had a manager.

    Powell saying "no" to Driesen's rejects.

    Result: Powell sacked

    Riga saying "no" to playing Driesen's rejects

    Result: Riga's contract not extended

    Peeters saying "No, this squad isn't big enough"

    Result: Peeters sacked

    Fraeye answering "no" to the question "Having you got a clue what you're doing?"

    Result: Caretaker sacked

    I believe it is when a specific plan to takeover the world or steal a nuclear weapon from a sovereign state goes awry. The atmosphere at Spectre headquarters is a bit edgy, so he looks around his evil empire and decides to burn the buns of one of his flunkies, usually the current incumbent of Head Coach at Charlton...

    The Douchbag can flip and pull the trigger for umpteen reasons or a combination of them. One thing is for sure he doesn't like being embarrassed in his own back yard............. Oh hang on a minute just after 4/5 March could be interesting :open_mouth:

    Sadly, Henry is right imo.

    Slade was, my opinion but I've convinced of it, sacked for non football reasons. No, the team wasn't playing great football apparently but results were not in the sackable category, particularly a week after th CEO went on national radio t say they are building the future around Slade. Before the Swindon game where he was sacked (and had to play with key players away on international duty), we had lost 1 in 8.

    There were strong rumours at the time that Roland was trying to impose O'Laughlin on Slade. He had been seen in the directors box at the same time. The rumours are that Slade kept saying no, he didn't want him on his coaching team. Slade was then sacked, O'Laughlin installed, and Robinson 'happy' for him to remain part of the team.

    Sure someone on here said at Wimbledon O'Laughlin seemed to be quite impacting where it come to subs.

    Robinson strikes me as a man that won't say 'No' to a lot. But we'll see.

    I was behind the dug out and Congo Chris was the one who went to the lino to inform him of the change to be made and this was done after a chat with KR although to what extent Congo Chris was affecting the decision it was hard to tell.

    I'm not sure that Congo Chris taking a phone call a couple of minutes prior to each sub had anything to do with it ;-))

    Of this there is no doubt.
    He will become our new coach on 6th March should we lose at Northampton and be totally out of any chance of playoffs (if were not now) - and especially if RD is confronted in Belgium , which is also likely if he decides to remain in town for that weekend.

    What it needs is for Meire to make some form of public statement to the effect that the regime support the manager. That sets alarm bells ringing and the cantankerous old git has to sack them, just to prove to everyone that he's still the boss.

    She didn't even appear at the press conference announcing his appointment.

    All the evidence suggests that the MK Dons chairman doesn't like those that say "no" either. And it is interesting that Russell Slade's other employers include SISU and Vincent Tan. RD clearly only employs yes men and women - which is of course the problem.
