It will be interesting to compare the Bury Fiver attendance on Saturday with similar promotions the last time we were in Division 3. As I recall, the one against Exeter when CP had recently been installed, was 25,000 plus...

@Airman Brown will of course be right across all of these stats and comparisons...

We have already had a fiver game this season against Rochdale which only attracted 14,000.

Be lucky if there is 12,000 this Saturday
  • It'll be worth everybody turning up on Saturday just to claim on CharltonLife 'I was there when the stadium was empty'... Oh, hang on a minute....

But if "everybody" turns up it won't be empty!

Perhaps we two should start the "follicly challenged and miserable" thread?

These are for 2010-11, the Parky/SCP season where we finished mid-table (13th):

    - 3rd highest average attendance in Division 3 (15,582 - behind Saints and the Massive)
    - 17th highest average attendance in the Football League
    - 2nd highest match attendance in Division 3 (24,767 - behind Saints)
    - 10th highest match attendance in the Football League

Sitting there last night, and looking around the stands, the last thing I was thinking was "this is really funny". Utterly depressing/soul destroying.

The turnstyle count for home fans last night must have been under 5000.
  • If you live in Charlton, unless you're very close to the ground, you can't really tell there's a match on any more. For me, that's Roland's legacy.

The saddest thing for me is that being a 60 year plus regular supporter, and season ticket holder until this year, I could not be bothered to go last night. I will not be returning under this owner whose priorities are so obviously milking the academy. His decision to appoint a CEO with no knowledge or experience to run the Club ( the way he instructs her ) is an unfunny joke, and has given us a settee by the pitch, and people wandering outside the Ground offering a drink sample. My hope now is to live long enough to see the back of the pair of them. Our only chance of hastening this is a complete boycott of all games, which I hate to say, but will personally follow.

I'm glad you've seen the light re boycotting, but sad that it's come to that.
  • We will never see a complete boycott but it looks as if it is starting to bite and take hold

I don't think you'll find a single person Bozman who likes or finds this funny mate

Except for those from Bermondsey and Croydon.

Very depressing when I saw the photo last night of the near empty stadium. And yet the ownership continue to lie about the attendances. Seeing that photo really does not persuade me to return to The Valley until they have left. Please Roland and Katrien just pack your bags.
  • how long before they close sections of the ground?

i do think a trick weve missed is not knowing how to manage it but for this weekend football for a fiver everyone buy tickets as spaced out as possible, if they tell you to move ammo for more proof of there shit behaviour and if enough stewards arent around its only our duty to inform the powers that be.
