Something he's never seen before at a football club?

    A win?

Roland releasing another failed signing from the club by "mutual consent" but making damn sure this one doesn't sign for Nancy the next morning.

He saw a senior "professional" player being more interested in attending to his personal vices on his mobile phone instead of preparing himself for an important football match.

    Is what I heard.

Yet he still allowed that player to start the game.

I don't normally join in with idle gossip, but what the hell, there's not much fun to be had following Charlton right now.

Assuming the rumours above are true. If it was something on his mobile, I'm guessing either gambling or, more likely from what you seem to be hinting at and Robinson's comments that he'd never seen it at a football club before, porn. And if a senior player who started, it's one of Rudd, Byrne, Tex, Jacko (seems highly unlikely), Crofts, Botaka, Holmes (seems unlikely as praised after the game), Novak (also singled out for post match praise), or Magennis. Konsa and Aribo are not really senior pros yet.

If they started, maybe it was too late to change because the team sheets were in, or maybe there was no real alternative (Byrne at right back for example).

It might fit better that it was Page and that is why Jacko ended up unexpectedly starting at left back.

It all seems a bit far fetched to me, but KR suggested it was something pretty unbelievable. That's if you believe him at all of course.

And it's not exactly like Robinson to exaggerate.

What kind of savage bashes one out in front of their pals and manager?

Surely Shrewsbury have bogs for the visiting team FFS.

We've gone from Tex checking his phone to Tex knocking one out in the middle of the changing room. OK.

I know this is a joke thread, but it may have been a player deliberately for no fuckin reason trying to give away a penalty, Tex's challenge which wasn't given for their fourth goal was a disgrace, and if I was a teammate I would have chinned the prick, that was the most blatant attempt for a deliberate penalty I have ever seen and I hope I dont see him wear a Charlton shirt again.

It wasn't this and it wasn't porn.

It's already been mentioned, so I'm not starting the rumour.

A fellow fan told me that before KO, Tex was showing the other players on his phone, the clubs who were after him or who had agreed to sign him in the summer. Allegedly Bauer may have also done similar, but not prior to KO.

I suppose it could explain when questioned why KR was so irate and said he couldn't do anything about it.

If he leaves out Tex, he only has Konsa and Bauer to play CH. Pearce & Lennon are still out & Johnson has effectively gone, as out injured for the season.

If this is ballcocks, then apologies to Tex, but then KR should have kept schtum, as it would 100% provoke speculation such as this.

Anyway, ultimately it's still the regime who are at fault and if Tex has been ignored from August to November as I and many others anticipated, in favour of playing the youngsters (Konsa) and is now only in the team occasionally, because of injuries, I can understand why he may have the hump. I would too, although I'm not condoning unprofessional behaviour.

The regime's aim of break even and not caring whether we win games or not and playing the kids when they are not as good as the professionals available, will always give rise to these issues.

Just sell the club to a viable buyer that wants Charlton to be a professional football club, rather than a player farm.

@Covered End - that account sounds more plausible, fits in with his individual circumstances this season, and is less creepy than someone randomly bashing the bishop amongst friends.

It does make Robinson sound like a bigger bellend considering his quip about "who would want them?" with regards to the players who aren't putting a shift in though.

If it's true then I'll say this: its a bit of a dick move from Tex, and does show just how he views the commitment required on the pitch, but it would appear that he's been treated ridiculously this season and he's above League One. Just like Bauer is better than League One.

Good job Tarbuck didn't get his phone out and show the players all the clubs that wanted him as Manager.
