Two factors for me, blockbusters provide an atmosphere in the cinema which you never experience at home and secondly, probably more importantly, these movies take multi millions of pounds to make. If we all resorted to downloading, we'd see the production line dry up very quickly. Some of these movies have residuals from merchandising action figures etc, but no live concerts to subsitute revenue lost to illegal downloading or file sharing, so really could see the demise of the film industry as a result, certainly the big studios. A price I wouldn't want to pay. Enjoy the Dark Knight, Bond etc movies too much to put that at risk. Don't condone music file sharing either, but the scenarios are slightly different.
