Apparently causing chaos at St James park after disallowing a newcastle penalty for encroachment...five mnute debate by the players at the ground. He maybe right but I cant recall ever seeing a penalty where there isnt half a dozen players from both sides in the box as he takes it.

Having not seen it as at work, who did infringe i would assume the newcastle players.....but it must have been so blatant for it to be done.0

Cancelling out a penalty for encroachment is pretty normal, we've seen it many times. But Stroud fucked up because he awarded an indirect free kick to the other team instead of a retake.
Not knowing this rule when you've been a pro ref for years is astonishing.0
