    Best part was still the one that really got him going, Captain Merrick in Granada TV's brilliant Jewel in the Crown. Played a complete bastard brilliantly. Actually, the whole thing was best bit of telly I have ever seen.

    He's always seem to play that kind of role, bit of a cad, rotter type.
