He was the only reason I listened to the show on a Saturday morning.

Sad to hear the news, as I was to hear that he was the latest in a line of broadcasters poorly treated by the BBC in recent times. RIP.

Not impressed with the BBC, for not owning up to a mistake.
They may well have been informed by the family,

Asked if the BBC planned to apologise, she said: “We have put out the statement that the family read and were happy with. That is the statement as it stands.” Bet the DG was livid with that cock up.
